Your ilk weren't forced to live there.Let them suffer too.

Pointing out hypocrisy is BAD ASS!

They wouldn't support hurricane victims on the east coast.

That would be socialism! Besides their top 50 corporations got all the money people pay in taxes already.

This is a job for Republican Jesus!
Oh shit that, Joel Osteen closed up the church and disappeared.

Lots of distortions in one post.

Joel Osteen's church was flooded on Sunday and is now open.

People didn't vote for Sandy relief because 80% of the bill was larded with pork barrel projects not related to Sandy relief:
- $150 million for Alaska fisheries
- $41 million for US military bases
- $5.2 million for Dept of Justice
- $4 million to NASA
- $2 million to the Smithsonian

How dare our politicians question an emergency spending bill! They are just supposed to be rubber stamps - right Jazz?

Some talk about retiring in Texas so you can live cheap.

What are they going to do?

They wouldn't support hurricane victims on the east coast.

Texas is a cheaper place to live in. Just wait until California has another major earthquake, and see for yourself. Besides, why don't people get insurance? Why risk everything you have? What you should do is get insurance with very high deductibles to make your premiums affordable.
All those grannies in your picture seem to be in a senior facility. I'm sure the owner has insurance.

I'm patient.
Maybe collapse will be long, slow & miserable for Nazi/Con/Reps.
Texas will be fine. The other 49 states will cover the cost.
Texas is a den of Socialism.
Rep/Nazi/Cons in other Red States don't have any need for federal money,
their Republican govts. have created a Nirvana for their citizens.

Neither Joel Osteens church which seats over 16,000 people nor his $10.5 MM house were flooded or even damaged despite tweet pics showing nearby flooding

FACT CHECK
http://www.snopes.com/is-osteens-megachurch-affected/

FFS - snopes has time to fact check this?

Did you even read it? It gave it a "mixture" rating and quoted the guy saying - "The church was flooded on the inside, garage level, basement level, not where the main floors are. It’s a huge place"

Flood waters are still rising and you think it is a good idea to make a shelter out of place that was already experiencing flooding?

Flood waters are not rising near Lakewood Church which is inside the Loop. It did NOT flood; however, Hwy 59 close to it flooded. Most likely the church just did not want to deal with peasants in distress since it is not profitable. Edit: garages flooded, but not the main building.

A picture from senior center is sad yet meaningless. What should the State do, put all seniors in skyscrapers?

How much insurance can a Capitalist society bear, without losing their Capitalist Soul?

Quite interestingly, the flood insurance premiums are tied to ability of a given neighborhood to lobby FEMA who provides flood insurance. Rich neighborhoods situated lower than poor neighborhoods will be re-classifed as "not in flood plane" and their flood insurance premiums will be lower. It is also interesting that inland TX subsidizes rich peoples' cyclone insurance on Gulf coast, as companies do not insure beachfront properties, and so insurance goes through state. If you are poor, you will be screwed.

Your op amounts to a lie and socal posted why.

Can't believe the leftists using this tragedy for political hay, esp when it's a city that swings dem.

That can truly be answered when disaster strikes.
I just had a flood/ water damage problem on one of my rentals. The insurance is covering the loss, but my deductible is $5,000 on that house. (*%&^#@$***) I'm still sticking with high deductibles because in the long run I am still better off. Having insurance is not really a choice. It's a part of sound financial management.

Hardly anyone has earthquake insurance. I am one of those who has earthquake insurance.
The purpose of insurance is "To Protect what you cannot afford to lose"
And no, I am not in the insurance business.
Me and my wife always had term life insurance. We gave it up this year (a year was left anyway) because our youngest just turned 21, graduated from college, and found a job where he seems to be doing pretty good. We don't need it anymore, so why pay for it?

Hey, Hey You, what's your hope for tomorrow? Pick one:
The world ends
We get nuked
An earthquake destroys California
Trump gets admitted to the Psych Ward.
17   anonymous   2017 Aug 29, 7:37pm

The world ends. I have an inlaw who has called the last 14 ends of the world. I don't doubt it will come, but the timing is the hard part. I call 2041 based on bee Africanization leading to crop failure. This is not a racist post.
