He has to actually deport those dreamers to free up those jobs. I doubt that will happen.

what about the 250 American born dreamers whose jobs were taken by these rats.

Tim Cook is just another gay man who hates Trump.

Send them to Ireland, Timmy, we know Apple has an office there.

given the Media onslaught and the Elite's deliberate and unprecedented refusal to give a Honeymoon.

Honeymoons are not given, they are earned. The honeymoon comes from the popularity of the person in question. A new president is usually well liked (he won the election, right) and people are optimistic. Trump was quite unpopular, and the people who disliked him did so strongly in a very polarized election. So, there was less incentive for the press to give him a big 'honeymoon'. Trump had been picking a fight with them for the prior year, as well. So Trump prevented a press honeymoon through his own actions toward the press and failure to win over more of the population. Trump did have a legislative honeymoon. Republicans have been loath to cross Trump, and he has gotten away with a ton of stuff. But Trump has spent his time bullying people (in Congress and his own administration) and losing popularity with the electorate. So, his honeymoon with Congresspeople is over, too. He still has strong allies in the House in districts that favor Trump, but his allies are dwindling. His political incompetence and lack of widespread popularity caused him to fail in making any major legislative progress during his honeymoon.

a dangerous break with tradition not to give the incoming President one...However, Trump's lack of a Honeymoon is probably the most daring anti-democratic move of Elite Oligarchs

I explained the reasons for the so-called 'honeymoon'. That some presidents get a bigger or smaller honeymoon or that some presidents throw away their honeymoon or make more or less of it is not dangerous. It's natural and has always happened. There is no honeymoon in the constitution. It's something that happens for political reasons from elected officials and for business reasons for the media. There are reasons that Trump got less of a honeymoon and made less of it. The media is the same old media and the politicians are the same old politicians. The new character here is Trump. Yet, you just want to blame everybody else for what Trump so clearly caused. Trump projects the view of a reactive child that the whole world is out to get him, and he accepts no responsibility for the chaos he causes. Don't buy into that lie.

You didn't answer my question. Which President besides Trump got no Honeymoon?

It's a civic tradition. There's a lot of things we do not in the Constitution, from Pledge of Allegiance to Town Meetings to Press Conferences to pardoning a Thanksgiving Turkey..

It marks the fact we celebrate a peaceful transition of power where everybody accepts the outcome of a legal election - the kind that Obama and the Very Serious People told us that 'no serious person' believes can be rigged.

You're creating caveats for a tradition that until now had NO caveats.

If these higher quality people could make it here - they can make it anywhere. US owes them nothing. It does owe something to its citizens (the ones you branded as "lower quality people").

What's worse is the active people are the only ones who can turn their own country around. By taking them in, we guarantee continued misery abroad.

If we need 20% of the Mexican population for America to survive, why not take over Mexico? It'd be quicker and easier.

The incoming president Earns it by being elected. It's unprecedented and a dangerous break with tradition not to give the incoming President one. Name me one elected President in the post-war era that didn't get one. It's a custom that verifies that we accept the Election process and aren't some shitty Latin American country.

Trump got a honeymoon. His was smaller, because no other president declared war on the media during their campaign and no president told half as many lies as Trump did. Trump did these things, and he received the obviously predictable result - more scrutiny. His actions brought on a predictable result. Refusing to take responsibility and blame everybody else is Trump's MO.

The election results were accepted, and we had a peaceful transition of power, despite Trump's many proclamations that the election was rigged. There was a peaceful inauguration, attended by past presidents. Then, there was an absolutely ridiculous 24 hours of alternate facts where Spicer proclaimed that up was down and ""That was the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period. Both in person and around the globe." Our country has a free press, which immediately proclaimed that the emperor had no clothes, and Trump doubled down. That's one example of many many ways that Trump threw away his honeymoon.

Those 250 will make it elsewhere. One question is whether or not they should have to. Another is whether or not it is good for the country. I'd say, no, they should not have to and it would be bad for the country.

I say "the good" from whatever gadget these 250 help to design or market for Timmy doesn't even start to offset the bad impact from constant open and flagrant violation of our laws they represent. Any open contempt for rule of law is corrosive. Don't like the law - win elections and change it. But this "sanctuary dream" shit must stop.

Besides, it's not like they're digging trenches or laying bricks: whatever is their roles at Apple they can continue perform them remotely. Or from Dublin office. IF (and this is a huge if) they all are THAT indispensible.

Actually, the tradition of a honeymoon started in feudal times when the parents of the newlyweds would GIVE them a month (moon) off to be together with all the mead (honey wine/beer/it's complicated) they could drink.

So yes, actually honeymoons are given not earned.

Most of the country would happily give Trump a 'moon' off of work to drink booz. It's his own fault if he'd rather wake up in the dumpy white house, fire off tweets, yell at his staff, and battle the media.
17   dublin hillz   2017 Sep 6, 11:54am

Trump called the mainstream media something verbatim from stalinist playbook - "the enemy of the people." In Stalin's time, "vrag naroda" meant a trip to gulag sanatorium or a bullet to the head in the cell at a time that was unknown to the "enemy." The "enemy of the people" was definitely within the framework of interpretation to be viewed as a threat and a provocation. He deserved no honeymoon whatsoever, this is just ridiculous to expect that media owed him one after such threatening and insulting unpresidential conduct.

Why don't you guys ever apply this to ending Cannabis Prohibition?

Kind of hard to have rule of law in a Democracy, when Crony Capitalists thrust horrifically UnAmerican Laws on the populace and then the populace voted to end it, and Trump responds by lying about his intentions, and instead, doubles down with the Terrorists against The People. Why does Trump hate the rule of law, law n order, and the wishes of the People? Why does he stifle the domestic economy and destroy jobs?

Are you serious? He was in office hours before the Pee Bullshit and the full on Russia-Trump crap began. He got NO Honeymoon. In fact, the Stalinist Oligarch Media was on him before inauguration day.

Why do you keep repeating this? I support legalization of almost all if not all drugs, and many here do support the legalization of weed. Many on the right are still stuck in prohibition mode for what they deem amoral but also many have become proponents of legalization many years ago already.

I keep repeating it because it is a very important issue that is intertwined with many other singular issues that the SJW's harp about (like this DACA). It's so glaringly obvious that it's an absolute wrong, that our own government could easily resolve, if only they represented the people. Yet somehow, it's never the time to address it. It's fucking beyond bizarre that so many people sit by idly allowing it to continue, because they assume that it doesn't effect them, just because they aren't dopers.

But what happens when your Grandma is aging, and in pain, and can't afford the insanely expensive Government appoved, harmful, nauseating, remedy for pain? You going to shove Endocets down her throat, because Republican Christians are holding us all hostage? What if a simple, healthy, inexpensive treatment exists already in the form of THC? Are you willing to let Grandma suffer so that you can be a shitty American that can't be bothered to fight for what's right?

Or how about when your boy graduates High School, and he gets pulled over with $20 in dried flowers and a personal piece of paraphanelia, because he's smart enough to not drink alcohol, but wants to get a little high so he can fall asleep. Now he has to hope that the insane LEO doesn't maime him in the process of destroying his life with a bunch of fines, probation, and permanent that crippled him in an already challenging job market.

There's literally no other side to the argument. There's no good reason to keep the lie going any longer. Now is the time to Right an age old wrong in this country. And it absolutely will trickle down massive benefits in many other ways.

Primarily, a return to respecting the rule of law
LEO can work to rebuild the bond they once had with their community. This helps solve other actual crimes, because the community will work together, rather than the current environment where militant jackboots are literally at war against their citizens.

It creates jobs. There's obviously tons of demand, so let The Free Market run it's course. The primary consumers of cannabis has always been working people. So cut them a break. Stop forcing them to pay 1000% markups just so The Government and the Lawyers and Judges can steal all that unearned Economic Rent. Canada has federally legalized cannabis to the point where the CPS is openly trying to gain market share as the pot courier service. All we need is to wait too long for Canada to become the producer of most Indoor medicine again, and then the morons will be demanding a wall on our northern border. It's also a de facto raise in wages, as working class folk could acquire their medicine for the same cost as a dozen ears of sweet corn.

Ending the War on Drugs will also benefit Mexico. We have no right to make that country a war zone and then act all confused when their people attempt to flee from the carnage.

We would save a lot of taxpayer money/resources. Obviously. Look how much we waste on the Failed Loser Christian war against the citizenry now. A pissboat of new found money.

It's better for the climate. We grow too much Soy and Feed Corn. They are both tough on the environment. Cannabis and Hemp are far more kind to the soil they are farmed in, and less labor intensive. You can eat the plant matter as well. Hemp micro greens are tasty and nutritious.

Who knows what all we can do with Industrial Hemp? We built this country with Hemp. The Founding Fathers were Hemp Farmers. Hell I actually lived in a town called Hempfield PA before. Make America Great Again.

It's a check for people that claim to want States Rights, obviously. More than half the States have pretty much defected from the Federal Govs War on Drugs.

It's a check for people that claim to want Personal Freedom and the right to choose.

It's the lone alternative to mainstream medicine and the horrific Healthcare industry.

It's just the right thing to do.

So rather than writing people like me off as Single Issue Stoner Losers, why don't you pause and ask yourself why it's not more of a priority for you.

Or make the case for continuing Federal Government War against the citizens

Yes. I think that Trump has been treated fairly based on what he has done. He got worse press than other Presidents, but he brought it on himself. He is getting a metaphorical strip search regarding Russia, but he has brought on the interest through his own lack of transparency on many fronts (lack of releasing taxes and failure of his staff and family to fully disclose contacts on required forms among other issues) as well as his son's private and his own public invitations for Russia to hack during the election. Blaming this on a scapegoat for Hillary is laughable.
