Or maybe it is just easy to maintain? Where I live, I never have to water it, just mow it , no fall cleaning of leaves, no other maintenance- save weed control once or twice a year?/

Well where I live, for the most part, there is enough rain/water-so no need to water. I have been here 5 years almost, only one summer saw dry brown grass- which in fall/winter dries up anyways getting ready for winter.
