It's so funny nobody figures out what's going on over DACA.

Legislatures is trying to run down the clock to the midterms and do nothing.
Trump gets rid of Obama's Executive Order, forcing the legislature to make deal(s) just to keep the status quo on DACA.
Puts GOPe in shitty position of having to pass DACA against the base's will, House/Senate Dems also have fire under ass from Tech Oligarchs like Amazon as well as their "Hate Domestic Poor, Love Foreign Poor" base of snooty professionals to get 'something passed'.
Trump gets something he wants for signing DACA, which will end up being far less generous than what Napolitano's crafted memo provided, probably temporary and/or pathway, not an outright amnesty for all "Dreamers".

As I said before:

I love Ryan, who hasn't done jack shit on taxes, the Wall, Rpealing AetnaCEOcare, etc. all of sudden get excited about preserving DACA.

I want Dreamers to pay $20k in taxes - can be paid in installments, or serve a term in the military, to get citizenship.

I'd be willing to trade DACA for the Wall.

But no more amnesty without FUNDED (not just authorized) Border Controls, including a Wall and a dramatically increased Border Patrol, and a Sanctuary City Federal Money Cut Off.

I hope NeoCucks Ryan and McConnell disappear in the ether. Also wrt DACA I am not opposed to a well thought out piece of legislature that would give those a path to legal residency who have not committed any crimes and/or have valuable skills (depressing already low wages for low skilled jobs is NOT a valuable skill).

Wait, didn't we already have a celebration on DACA being voted in as a Constitutional Amendment?
4   lostand confused   2017 Sep 15, 1:18pm

I don't support this. However he hasn't officially come out supporting this new position. This would be an about change-lets see -when it came to it, he put an end to the program. That is good, lets wait to see if it happens.

My expection-even if the repubs fold and cobble a legislation-he should not sign and instead veto it.

However this could be a giant troll move to push the repubs to move over to his side on all issues and stop dithering and hide behind procedure. If it is that-it is genius. lets see.

Trump goes ahead with the vaguely described plan to support the Democrats big “dream” amnesties in exchange for token improvements to border security — despite his campaign-winning, pro-American, immigration-reform-and-border-wall platform.

That is what I am saying. the current right is fed up with corporate repubs and voted for Trump, because he said he would fix it. Now if he does his best-fine. But this wa sjust stupid-beyond stupid.

The dems have it easy, they can stomp on the middle class, sell out to corporates and deport a ton of illegals-their rabid base will simply support them-no matter what.
repubs demand results and if you don't deliver, primary you out. Eric cantor the repub majority leader was primaried out and if trump ends up being a regualr repub-there will be hell to pay.

Trump can't do shit without Republicans ready to MAGA. A lot of them are gonna get primaried come November 2018!

That sounds great. Please nominate more Todd Akins. Please nominate more Linda McMahons. Please nominate more Richard Mourdocks. Please nominate more Denny Rehbergs.

It's tight game. Trump doesn't care about his popularity at this point as long as he gets enough support to get stuff done. He has been hated so much by half the country that I'm sure many would celebrate if the turned up dead. He is passed the campaign and everything that came with it and will do whatever he sees fit as best leaving a lasting mark for the US, popular or not. And of course whatever is possible with the deep state breathing at his neck. He is old enough and has led a pretty fulfilled life, liked or not. He has certainly brought attention to the fact that you don't need to be part of the one party system that is only dividid when the proles yell at and unfriend each other at facetwat, or when idiots go to "demonstrate" and destroy property and lives. The whole system has been in shambles for a while, first the neocons/Repubs started crumbling and then they were spectacularly overtaken by the Dems embracing the idiocy leftoid identity politics and going down as the even bigger loser party. Maybe a 3rd party will evolve or more politicians will run as independent again. So far his presidency has shattered the echo chambers and ivory-towered bullshit identity academics and that's a great thing. So far it's a positive presidency. We shall wait for half-time to make a more informed tally.

It is a process. You try and see what works-unlike your kind who will vote for who the party tells you to vote. Where have the dems revolted on TPP. Will you call Obama a backstabbing piece of crap for pushing TPP so hard??
10   joeyjojojunior   2017 Sep 17, 12:54pm

Yep--I will happily criticize Obama on any number of fronts. Free trade. Civil Rights. Transparency. He ended up being too much like a Republican in several areas.

Many of my kind DIDN'T vote for Clinton which is why Trump was elected. So you're actually lucky that you're wrong.

Democrats 1990s: "It's perfectly acceptable and necessary for the Rule of Law to send armed men in the wee hours of night to seize a child from it's Mother and Extended Family and return him to the Impoverished Human Rights Abusing Dictatorship they fled from. We're a Nation of Laws"
Democrats 2010s: "It's perfectly unacceptable not to give automatic citizenship to anybody who crossed the border with their parents under 18. They can't go back to their home country, like the Republic of South Korea or Republic of Mexico. We're a nation of immigrants, Damn the Law!"

Politicians are very good at sniffing out trends in the corporate kleptocracy such as the old "fossil" money being overtaken by the new "internet age" money and so they change their tunes to the beats of the modern kleptocracy (their livelihood on taxpayer money depends on it) which basically demands the dissolution of countries and their borders. Never has the divide between politicians plus their media lackeys and working class bigger than today, hence Trump's stunning election win.

Yup. Bashing the Fake News is also paying huge dividends. We all know Hillary would be standing with Google; hell, if Hillary was elected the Google memo would probably have never been written or shared, and the Evergreen State SJWs would probably be White House invitees.

Hey, who co-sponsored this Bill, saying it was the sense of Congress that Elian Gonzales had to be deported ("Re-united with his Father") to Castro's Cuba?

Nancy Pelosi was against Dreamers before she was in favor of them.

However Congress decides to deal with Dreamers, it should be based on the real demographics of the DACA populace, not the glamorized image typically presented by the media.

Watching television reports concerning Dreamers, one would think that the DACA program applied only to college-educated immigrants who were just a few years old when their parents brought them into the country illegally. We are led to believe that most are so fully Americanized that they would now have trouble speaking their native language and are all but ignorant of their birth countries’ cultural norms. Thus, we are supposed to believe, returning them to their native lands would be a cruel hardship.

In fact, many DACA beneficiaries came here as teenagers
. All were eligible for the program as long as they entered the U.S. before their 16th birthday. By that time, there is no doubt that they spoke the language of their native countries fluently and knew their culture intimately.

DACA had no requirement of English fluency,
as evidenced by the application form that had a space to list the translator used to complete the form. The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that “perhaps 24 percent of the DACA-eligible population fall into the functionally illiterate category and another 46 percent have only ‘basic’ English ability.”

Unfortunately, many Dreamers are poorly educated. Only 49 percent of DACA beneficiaries have a high school education, even though a majority are now adults. And while military service could also qualify an illegal alien for DACA, out of the current 690,000 DACA beneficiaries, only 900 are serving in the military.

The Obama administration did not check the background of each DACA beneficiary, despite a requirement that they have no felony convictions and pose no threat to national security. Only a few randomly selected DACA applicants were ever actually vetted.

This may explain why, by August this year, more than 2,100 DACA beneficiaries had had their eligibility pulled because of criminal convictions and gang affiliation. Even if a random background investigation produced substantial evidence that an illegal alien might have committed multiple crimes, the alien would still be eligible for DACA if he wasn’t convicted.

Thus, it seems that a significant percentage of DACA beneficiaries have serious limitations in their education, work experience and English fluency. What’s the likelihood that they’ll be able to function in American society without being substantial burdens to U.S. taxpayers?

Without changing the sponsorship rules, any congressional amnesty bill providing citizenship could significantly increase the number of illegal aliens who will benefit beyond the immediate DACA beneficiaries. Giving lawful status to Dreamers will allow them and their families to profit from illegal conduct.

Who would not agree with this? Every year millions apply for legal residency and start the long path of fees, visas and interviews. Few eventually make it to citizenship, many at least to Greencard status. Who in their right mind would argue that millions who disobeyed that process suddenly get rewarded and cut in line in front of all the legal "suckers"?! Only in a twisted leftoid world.

Democrats admit it's all about getting votes:

29   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Mar 5, 8:15pm

Well, there goes March 5th, and the Democrats didn't come to the table.

They just abandoned their DACA dreamers.

No surprise, they generally abandon their Black and Poor voters in all the time between Election Seasons.

Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, all shining examples of Democratic Care and Concern for their critical minority segment.

The guy on the left deserves a citizenship for sure. I mean, the guy on the right doesn't use his anymore, so the net number of citizens will remain the same, m-kay?
