She says she doesn't have aid and supplies when there are pallet loads behind her.

In an interview on CNN, Long suggested that Carmen Yulin Cruz, the mayor of Puerto Rico’s capital city, has failed to connect with FEMA command center set up on the island to help with the relief effort.

“The problem that we have with the mayor unfortunately is that unity of command is ultimately what’s needed to be successful in this response,” Long told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield.

“What we need is for the mayor, the good mayor, to make her way to the joint field office and get plugged into what’s going on and be successful,” he continued, adding that, “I think that’s the bottom line on that tweet.”

San Juan Mayor has failed to communicate with FEMA Command Center in Puerto Rico. That's right, the Mayor of a city the size of San Juan hasn't been in liason with the FEMA Command Center. WOW. You'd think she'd be breathing down their neck. But as with Puerto Rico generally, she can preen herself on TV but can't be arsed to do some legwork.

Given that 80% of the truck drivers haven't showed up to move the aid, small wonder is isn't getting distributed. I imagine a great many of these workers live inside the Mayor's realm of responsibility. How about the Mayor starts knocking on their doors to remind them it's a work day? Or will she simply praise the release of Terrorists as usual?

It's obvious! She's a cock craving cunt! She hates Trump! She's a SJW! She hates American Nationals! She's a neoliberal! She a globalist aggregationist bitch and it's all Obama's fault and Clinton would have been worse!

Did I cover them all?

Yep, Taller than she is.

Where is the PR Cajun Navy? All these Macho guys sitting at home waiting for the cell towers to go back up.

"Eh, when they call me, I'll go in."
"May no new thing arise."
"Manana"

Looks like the DNC got a hold of the Mayor and told her to get busy --- complaining about Trump.
5   anonymous   2017 Sep 30, 3:43pm

I don't know what she was expecting. Puerto Rico is an island in the middle of water. Big Water. Ocean Water.

Sad!!
6   MisdemeanorRebel   2017 Sep 30, 3:46pm

Mayor Cruz, Floja Chica con Boca Grande.

I'll be shocked if the FEMA Director dared say what he did if she even showed up ONCE.

Holy Fuck, think about that. The Mayor of a Metropolis and the Major Port of the Island hasn't visited the FEMA Center after a Cat 4 Hurricane, but complains about aid delivery in a new printed novelty T-Shirt.

Let that sink in.
7   anonymous   2017 Sep 30, 3:48pm

Yes, it's hard to believe that Puerto Rico is having a hard time with distribution. They have no diesel and the roads are unpassable in many areas.

But, by all means, let's pretend that the drivers are lazy. Because it's always the brown guy's fault!

60% of gas stations are open for business. If gas stations have fuel, then the port authority certainly does and a sizable portion of the primary roads must be open.

The Mayor certainly has road access to a T-shirt printing place.

Today. And supplies are being distributed today.

Did you US not have access to some helicopters to help? Or was Trump too busy golfing to be bothered?

Do you know how many helicopters it would take to distribute bottled water to all of Puerto Rico daily?

lol--more than zero. That's for sure.

How about distributing water to some of the island? Like the areas with high population density that had none?

You mean the big cities where nobody is showing up to work? Dude, it would take 1000s of helicopter sorties a day to even make a dent in cities of millions of people. It's one thing to deliver a few pallets to a platoon of marines, another thing to take on even small towns of 1000s of people. The logistics involved require civilian employees to get to work. Given how many can tramp up to cell phone towers to take selfies, or print custom T-shirts after a hurricane, means there is enough road access and power to get started.

Do you really think the avenues and main streets in big cities are still clogged with branches? Apparently there isn't a chainsaw in all of Puerto Rico.

Trump might say something about it, but he doesn't have free speech because he's not a private citizen.

The racism really is: "The Cajun Navy and the Whites can run their shit. Poor dumb Ricans need us to hold their fucking hands to do shit Americans do on a regular basis and always in the aftermath of a storm."

Awesome--again with the sly implication that they're lazy. Did the people in Houston show up to work when the city was completely flooded? Lazy Americans.

Keep it up. I'm sure this is playing well in Florida right now.

I guarantee you that local power employees, local truck drivers, etc. showed up when they could. Often when it was dangerous for them to do so. That's why shit got fixed so fast.

In other places, some things are just acts of nature you have to wait out, and eventually, the Patron will give you back pay for when you didn't show up.

They have Mayors of Big Cities who don't visit the fucking FEMA Command Center, for days after the strike., but have the balls to complain standing in front of huge pallets of aid. That's irresponsibility and laziness "to the max"

And how do you know that the Puerto Rican drivers aren't doing the same? Have you seen the devastation there? How do you know who could and couldn't show up?

I guarantee none of the drivers was in Bedminster, NJ playing golf for a long weekend.

Like I said, if you can print Novelty T-shirts and reactivate Cell phone Towers, with 60% of gas stations open for business, chances are Truck Drivers can get to work. Like most enterprises, I suspect the vast majority of Port Truckers live close to their jobs.

Were 60% of gas stations open 5 days ago?

Seriously--I can screen print a T-shift in my house. Do you think that takes a lot of work?

You have no idea about how many truck drivers could get to work. You just like to assume that they're lazy.

Again--keep it up. Florida is becoming bluer as I type this.

So in the aftermath of a hurricane, when you could be out organizing a response, or checking in JUST ONCE with the FEMA Command Center, you print T-shirts.

The roads are allegedly a total mess, but your time is better spent making T-shirts rather than helping clean it up.

Here is another picture of the complaining Mayor.

When the El Faro sank in 2015, portions of Puerto Rico were "Food Insecure for Months". The Mayor back then was still Cruz. Did she print T-shirts to blame Obama for weeks of food shortages? Nope.

Mayor Cruz is a left wing radical who praised bomber terrorists who was involved in multiple attacks in New York City.
http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/30/san-juan-mayor-praised-convicted-faln-terrorist/ The terrorist confessed to every single charge, and said he was a political prisoner fighting US Colonialism.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_L%C3%B3pez_Rivera He had the dishonesty to make this claim, even though he damn well know PR just had a referendum a few years before his terrorist attacks in 1967. The result? 60% for Commonwealth (Mostly Benefits, Few Obligations) Status, 30% for Statehood... 0.6% for Independence. That's right, only about half of one percent of Puerto Ricans voted for an Independent State.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rican_status_referendum,_1967
She's another SJW shit tester. She praises for anti-American terrorists, while blaming all of Puerto Rico's problems on the United States and especially a Nationalist President. She poses in front of pallets higher than herself, saying enough isn't being done.

The way to deal with shit tests? Either the nuclear option (super-alpha) or laugh it off. Whatever you do, you never say "Oh, how could you sayyyyy that about meeeee"

Either way, the AltLeft Loses.

If enough isn't being done because the Infrastructure is destroyed, what's he supposed to do? Conjure new infrastructure out of freakin' thin air?
If enough isn't being done because the local authorities are corrupt and the unions using chaos as an opportunity to get shit despite a bankruptcy, would the ALtLeft support it if he brushed them aside and seized total civil control of the Island - if he has the unilateral power to do so?

Funny, despite their best efforts, Texas and Florida recoveries were model operations, professionally executed with a minimum of delay and fuss. Yet Puerto Rico, affiliated with the Democratic Party for decades and decades, is a mess, but somehow FEMA sucks coming off two one-right-after-the-other Flawless Responses? Unlikely.

Puerto Rico, our own little Venezuela! How cute, it's kicking!
20   joeyjojojunior   2017 Sep 30, 6:20pm

She was out helping her constituents while Trump was playing golf and holding press conferences to tell people that Puerto Rico is in the ocean.

You can do your normal character assassination but it doesn't hide the fact that Trump is totally incompetent and doesn't even care to try anymore.

No matter what happens, if Puerto Rico remains affiliated with the USA, it must pay income tax going forward, because this relief and reconstruction is very expensive and the "
"Commonwealth" is bankrupt.

All the people who moan "Colonialism" can't show you any sourced documentation that the US makes a dime off Puerto Rico. $34B in Capital Gains (no timeline given). C'mon, the whole Federal Take is like $90-140B in a given year. Anybody believe Ricans are so rich selling stock and real estate they are paying 1/4-1/3rd of the US Total Cap Gains Tax? Apparently San Juan is the new Wall Street or Greenwich, CT. Besides, every American is subject to the cap gains tax (and the Jones Act, not just CONUS but also Alaska, Hawaii, Guam), so how is that Colonialism if the "Home Country" citizens pay the same taxes? Actually, most Ricans are exempt from the largest source of Federal Revenue, the Income Tax.

What important strategic commodity does Puerto Rico supply? Actors for an off-Broadway production of "West Side Story" doesn't count. Coffee? Nope.If they have it, it must not be any damn good because I love Coffee and never heard anybody mention "Great PR Coffee". Sugar? We use mostly corn syrup. Bananas? Grows everywhere. Oil? Nope. Yellowcake? Only the Goya Brand kind. Military Bases? Shut down for years.

Puerto Rico is a commonwealth, not a state. The Constitution has almost nothing to say about "Commonwealth" Status. It could be voted out.

We're not Spain where the Constitution says any Territory is with the nation forever. We've already created independent states out of US Territory.

By the way, holding an "In like a state, or out like an independent country, no in-between" is Constitutional and not Colonialist by any definition.

PR Civilian Police Employee calls in Radio Station

English translation with "CC"...

I wonder why 77 of 78 mayors of PR have said that FEMA was doing a good job but this ONE mayor wanted to Blame Trump.

Here's the answer, she's a Hillary supporter that hasn't shown up at FEMA headquarters for briefings and meetings. She rather be the whiny Dem that she is. I'm shocked (not).

Joey is an armchair logistics specialist... next he'll propose we use spaceships to beam the aid down to Puerto Rico. He won't expect Mayor of San Juan to lift a finger. He expects Trump to spoon feed her how to do her job for some reason...
29   Shaman   2017 Oct 1, 3:13pm

You know why there was never any Puerto Ricans on Star Trek?
Because in the future, they aren't going to work either!
32   Ceffer   2017 Oct 2, 2:22pm

Pretty standard third world politics. Refuse to move the aid and hold it hostage unless the government flunkies get a substantial cut. When at the top, skim anything and everything when there is the opportunity. Fuck the people.

There are some countries that have actually placed taxes on free foreign aid to their starving people and wouldn't release aid until millions of dollars had been paid.
