Harvey Weinstein

By TwoScoopsMcGee following x   2017 Oct 5, 1:41pm 978 views   80 comments   watch   quote     share

A former top adviser to Barack Obama was among the list of public relations professionals and lawyers consulting Harvey Weinstein over a major New York Times story, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Anita Dunn, a top Obama campaign staffer and former White House communications director, helped offer damage control advice for the Hollywood mogul.

On Thursday afternoon, the New York Times published a major investigation into Weinstein that features on-the-record claims of sexual harassment, including from actor Ashley Judd.

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported Wednesday that the Times was working on the story on Weinstein’s personal “behavior." The two Hollywood trade outlets also reported that NBC News' Ronan Farrow is working on a piece about Weinstein for the New Yorker.
...
Sources said that Lanny Davis, former special counsel to Bill Clinton, has been central to the PR effort for Weinstein, who is a major Democratic donor. Dunn, for her part, is the managing director of SKDKnickerbocker, a Washington public affairs firm with deep ties to Democratic politics. She was communications director for Obama’s 2008 campaign and served briefly in his administration.

Weinstein’s legal team is also a murderer’s row of high-profile names, according to Variety and THR: David Boies, Lisa Bloom (who helped bring down Bill O’Reilly), and Charles Harder (who helped Hulk Hogan fell Gawker).

Weinstein responded to the Times story with a statement: “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it. Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.”

Let's sit back and watch all the Hollywood and Media Stars and Members of the Obama Entourage who made a big deal out of "Grab the Vagina" start criticizing Weinstein as loudly and as vociferously. Ha!

Teehee. What does that say about the 100s of other DEM/REP politicians who got their ass beat by a narcissistic dim wit?

When did Trump beat them?

Don't you know there are different standards of sexual harassment depending on whether you are the Executive Officer of a Hollywood Outfit, or the Whole Country?

No but there are different levels of interest from the public. Only an idiot doesn't realize this.

Nothing surprises me about these perverts anymore.

Bill Clinton
Weiner
Weinstein

Most leftist are closet perverts, and NAMBLA was found to be made up of 85% Democrat registered members.

Left: DONALD TRUMP said "He said it's okay to grab Womyn by the Pussy!"*
RIght: He didn't say that, and what he did say, he said it to another guy.
Left: Bill O'Reilly harassed his employees!
Right: Yeah, we heard about it endlessly. There's this Weinstein guy, settled 8 civil suits, masturbated and disrobed in front of actresses and others repeatedly, open secret but nobody did shit for decades about him
Left: But Weinstein isn't the PRESIDENT!
Right: Bill Clinton was censured, disbarred, AND settled civil claims over sexual misdconduct
Left: WHATABOUTERY!

Not one word on SNL.

She's either:

1. Clueless and uninformed ("Bad Instincts")
2. Lying Again.

This guy is an asshole with absolutely no game. As in none. He's rich and influential, but still can't bed the broads, even after browbeating and begging them. SAD!!!

"I swear on my children". What a sick flaccid fuck.

Cyrus Vance had this tape and decided not to prosecute. We may need an investigation as to whether Weinstein's status as a big Dem donor may have had something to do with it.

When you begin to drain the swamp, the big ugly whales are the first to be revealed.

After he dumped Lisa Bloom, daughter of Gloria Aldred. It was Bloom's idea to make sure the media had smiling pictures of Weinstein with all his happy accusers. Bloom got a cushy deal with Weinstein. But now that Aldred is repping on of Weinstein's victims, Bloom dropped him as a client.

This isn't the beginning of the end, it's not even the end of the beginning. This kind of scandal ends up becoming an avalanche. We're gonna find out all kinds of seedy, weird shit.

Really, if you have an executive or director that is exposing the investors to reputation wreckage, loss of custom, and large-scale liability and you have any fudiciary responsibilities, even implied, in your role in the company, you don't have much choice but to go to the board and stop the train until things are put in order.

I read the New Yorker article (thanks, Clipatariate!) and the show-the-ladies-the-dick stuff is not shocking. What is really deeply bizarre is a company of this size and sophistication having no trouble using its resources and personnel to proxy pimp and matchmake for a twisted old rapist as a matter of everyday trade.

Playing odds on if a liability like this will express is a fool's game. It's only a matter of when.

Helping the guy run his game with company resources basically guarantees the complaint will involve all the assets of the company as targets of litigants seeking compensation.

Even Harvey's divorce is likely an asset shifting strategy. However, he would have to trust his ex. As the saying goes, how do you say "Fuck You" in Hollywood?

"Trust me."

He'll probably croak somewhere along the course of litigation, trying to cling on to the threads of past grandiosity and glory. At least it looks to be an entertaining pissing match, and entertainment is what it is all about. I bet the retainer was north of five million bucks, and the millions will dissolve like snow in legal summer.

They do seem to break down into two camps: the "morally outraged" and the "I never suspected". Maybe a third: "I never suspected, but now that I do, I am morally outraged".

Of course, there are the oddball Harvey co-dependents who may think he still has some fumes to get their careers going again like Lindsey Lohan.

Didn't Gibson get smacked down pretty hard once his tirades became public?

Did Hollywood (and major Democrat politicians) kiss up to Gibson and cover it up for 3 decades?

Just imagine if the tables were reversed and there were prominent Republicans singing the praises of a sexual predator like this.

The Media and Democrats would be going ape-shit and going on and on about the "larger truth" and how the entire Republican party was complicit on the "war on women".

Yup. "An Anti-Womyn Culture" or some shit like that would be the talking point of the WaPo, NYT, CBS, PMSNBC, etc. With Weinstein, the Media is trying to keep it about him.

There's only one solution to this exploitive male bestiality!

Have the starlets engage in judged combat with each other nude, finishing with a rabid tweetie ravishing fest.

Eliminations until the best woman gets the three picture deal.
