Goran just bought a $70,000 GMC Sierra Denali because he didn't listen to Paul Krugman and actually made money

As you may have remembered, back in June 2017, I posted a thread where I was looking for a full size truck (to replace my Audi Q5 as my primary mode of transportation).

Looked at Toyota Tundras, Ford F150s, and Dodge 1500 Rebels. In the end, the truck that fit me the best was the GMC Sierra Denali.

GMC Sierra Denali Quick stats
- 420 hp @ 5600 rpm
- 460 lb-ft of torque @ 4100 rpm
- 4x4 Drive
- Onyx Black paint
- DENALI ULTIMATE PACKAGE
- 8.1 inch nav/entertainment screen

This truck kicks ass. Thanks Trump.

Gas lawn mowers pollute more than this 6.2 liters of freedom, and they're completely unregulated.

All I had to do was trust that a billionaire business man wouldn't crash the economy like Paul Krugman was leading everyone to believe.

Total lie. Your monster car pollutes much more CO2 and wastes much more fuel. A crappy lawnmover 2-stroke emits more organic pollutants, but is not used every day. Your bonehead rationalization is not valid.

Do you get tired of being wrong?

A brand new single gas lawn mower emits 80-120 pounds of atmospheric-warming carbon dioxide each year if used for 1 hour and ONCE per month.

The problem is they actually release much than that since most are not well maintained, not subject to smog checks or other regulatory checks, and they are used much more than 1 hour per month on average (especially by border bro maintenance professionals). it's been estimated that one ill-maintained or older gas mower actually has an 1000/lb to 1800/lb carbon impact per year on average, and there are literally hundreds of thousands of these things out there, not well maintained, and being used for hours per day.

How many 2017 Sierra Denalis are on the road right now? Maybe 2,000 total?

Does anyone make a 2 stroke mower any more? I haven't heard of one for years.

Good looking truck. About $68,000 more than I usually pay for a truck, but I like people to take a lot of depreciation first before I buy.

Bob the bottom feeder. Makes sense.

If you are buying a ranch hunting truck, $2k makes sense. Don't take that beater on the interstate

Hard to justify why you did not get the RAPTOR! Otherwise your new truck is pretty fucking sweet dude.

Nice truck, but unfortunately bottom of the list of cars you looked at when it comes to maintaining value/resale.

I drive my 2k (actually 1600) 300k suburban on the interstate all the time. Rolls along at 80 quiet and comfortable all day long without burning a bit of oil. Tows 8k on a regular basis too. After owning 4 years it's still worth as much as I paid.

I don't buy depreciating assets. I do own a bunch of rental houses though. Free and clear. Being a bottom feeder I'll be smiling and waving sitting there on my sack of seeds all day long thank you very much.

I am sure it's a nice ride. It will depreciate about 25K in the first year alone.

Go ahead, buy a used $2,000 GMC Sierra. I'm sure it'll serve you reliably.

Who is the troll again? Seems like it's your hero Krugman.

Raptors are nice. I won't hate on them, but a little bit "loud" for me visually. The Denali is more understated, and fits the aristocrat that I am.

Raptors are awesome trucks though.

That is a real, real nice truck. We only live once-enjoy!!
I miss my F-350 Diesel-that thing towed 10,000+ pounds up and down the Sierras like it was nothing.
Where I live now, no hills and 5 months I don't get out-but I have a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GM should rename the truck to GMC Sierra DENIAL. Or Goran_K could just get DENIAL as a vanity plate.
Ford also has an SUV I would like to rename: the Ford EXTINCTION.

I'm not saying you're lying, but a cursory glance at AutoTrader and Cars.com shows me that $2,000 trucks look like they would drive like complete garbage without some serious work and there aren't very many choices.

I guess you're a very lucky guy to be getting all these super reliable $2,000 trucks (that somehow don't end up on two of the largest online car selling websites on the planet) that you can drive problem free without any work.

Where do you get them. My first car was a Geo metro I bought used 3 years old and 45k miles on it for 3,400 and thsi was in the 90s. I drove that thing for another 100k miles with only occasional oil changes and one tire change, before the tranny gave out.

But a 2,000 bucks truck that can tow reliably in hilly country?? Do you tow live cargo by any chance? Coming down with 12,000 pounds down the sierras-sorry -stuff happens -but on a 2k truck. Well maybe you are just lucky?? Do you buy 2k and replace evrything-just curious, because you mentioned you towed.

No, but you'll make multiple post thinking about it right? Care to make another one pretending that you don't care? You're almost convincing us.

Nice truck. Congratulations. I will probably go for the cheaper version of Silverado sometime in the future. I love trucks too. I own big piece of land in Washoe county.
40   anonymous   2017 Oct 6, 7:38pm

Nice truck. Glad to see you ignored Krugman. I guess you also quit listening to Peter Schiff who you used to vigorously defend years ago.

Schiff called for the market to be a disaster under Trump. And the year before...and the year before...
