Donald Trump suggests pulling a broadcast license from NBC that doesn't exist

What a great idea! Lets let government censor the media and muzzle any company that can't adhere to the proper narrative. How could this possibly go wrong?

Comcast Corporation, General Electric Company ("GE"), and NBC Universal, Inc., ("NBCU") have filed applications seeking Commission approval to assign and transfer control of certain broadcast, satellite earth station, wireless and other licenses to a new joint venture they seek to create, which would be called NBC Universal. The proposed transaction would combine NBCU's two broadcast television networks (NBC and Telemundo), its 26 local owned-and-operated broadcast television stations, several national cable programming networks, a motion picture studio, international theme park businesses and online content businesses with Comcast's regional sports networks, other programming networks, and certain online businesses. The joint venture would not include Comcast's cable systems or wireless holdings. The joint venture would be 51 percent owned by Comcast, 49 percent owned by GE, and managed by Comcast.

Apparently there are licenses, if you have to file to transfer them. Including broadcast by name.

Still a lot better than Bush starting a war over WMDs that did not exist.

That's not the way uncensored media works as the mainstream media is starting to discover. It's economic democracy where popular ideas earn more viewers and therefore more followers and more revenue as unpopular ideas fade away.

That comes with another set of dangers, such as the radicalization on both sides, however you can't argue that a free media can easily be twisted into an agenda machine by a single corporation or even a media conglomerate. Newscorp tried it and it blew up in their face spectacularly.

On the net, blogs get blocked from searches or demonetized on Youtube and other platforms. (Google employees are laid off for expressing their opinions. )
On TV & paper: it's a small # of media outlets controlled by large groups relaying specific narratives for some power groups, and purged from anything too controversial for advertising.
Hardly "economic democracy".
I think you may be more aware of this with regard to feminism (try to attack it in the media), but it extends to a lot of other domains, ranging from the economy to radical Islamism.
trump is just one fish in that cesspool - who happens to be president.

You're talking about a split second in time. Top down never works long term. The cracks are getting wider and soon capitalists will exploit them.

Coke wants to pull their advertising from YouTube? How long until a new soft drink company embraces it and gets a market worth billions?

I guess you missed the part about locally owned and operated. The stations have the licenses, not the network. There is no license for NBC. There are licenses for stations either NBC owns or are part of the NBC network. I know that requires some heavy thought for you, but I'm sure you will be able to grasp it if you really try.

On what fucking planet is Donald Trump's opinion of fake news justification for revoking a license of any kind??

Orwell would have hung you on a telephone pole naked for your GROSS stupidity about government control over the media. I don't give a rat's ass how fake you consider the news is. You'll call any news fake as long as it makes your god look bad.

Don't worry, the polls are fake. All of them. Even the ones who predicted Trump would win the election. All fake. No worries, Trump is winning no matter how much he's losing. Kneel before your god!!!!!

This means exactly what? Does your trolling company give you an extra cookie if it gets to a certain level?

How exactly does that chart have ANY effect on people's daily life? Answer: it doesn't.
