David Lynch's movie "Mulholland Drive" is an abstraction, but I understood the movie completely from my time in LA. It's the only abstract movie I have ever seen where I understood every part, kind of a nightmarish, noir "Sunset Boulevard". It describes the movie industry to a Tee, if you are willing to pick it's lock.
