The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.

After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Elias and his law firm, Perkins Coie, retained the company in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Before that agreement, Fusion GPS’s research into Trump was funded by an unknown Republican client during the GOP primary.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC, through the law firm, continued to fund Fusion GPS’s research through the end of October 2016, days before Election Day.

And this is news why? Candidates pay for oppo research in pretty much every major election.
2   joeyjojojunior   2017 Oct 24, 6:43pm

I take it you can't tell me why it's news then
3   joeyjojojunior   2017 Oct 24, 6:45pm

It's not surprising--Clinton has gotten consistently unfavorable media coverage for the last 2 years. Why should it change now?

Russian collusion-oh she didn't break any law. if this was Trump-traitor, treason, Trump colluded with Russians to win the election-the depths of hypocricy of the liberal left is astounding.

The only Russian collusion was Trump.

Clinton allegedly paid a UK consulting firm to do investigative work. Not sure how you can equate the two?

I'll bite. How is paying your law firm to do oppo research russian collusion in your mind? I'd really like to know how this connection is made.

So paying for and releasing a document that contains false information and lies on another person isn't breaking the law?

Ever hear of slander, defamation and libel?

#1--nobody has proven they were lies. Most of it has been verified as truth.
#2--slander, defamation and libel are not criminal, they are civil.

How so?
14   anonymous   2017 Oct 25, 8:56am

Just a quick question. What's the difference between paying money for dirt and paying for dirt with favors and influence to a foreign power? Does anyone who voted for Trump know the answer?

Can you be legally sued for them?

Can you get locked in jail for them?

For instance? What facts are there that establish even a modest suspicion quid pro quo between Putin and Trump?

Let's see... Trump jr meeting with Russian lawyer who claims to have dirt on Hillary obtained by Russian intelligence. Then, Trump changes the Republican platform to be friendlier to Russia immediately before the convention.

Trey Gowdy should be given free reign to just go ahead and put Hillary in prison. Putting Hillary in prison would restore a lot of faith in the justice system and would be a good move overall, and send a message that corruption won't be tolerated.

1. Let's see what the platform says
2. The platform is written BEFORE the candidate wins and can do anything during the election cycle
3. Words != Deeds

Whereas with Hillary and Podesta, there was cash exchanged and/or actions taken.

The Clinton Foundation was Charity Fraud.

Talk about dodging a bullet. Just imagine how fucked we would be if she won.

Nothing like having a command of the English language, "imagine", "if".
Think I'll research the phrase,"reality check".
I guess as we grow older we have a tendency to repeat ourselves.
"Republicans are in charge. It's all on them."
"Boycott all Republicans!"
