HOLY SHIT!!!

I never thought I'd see it.

Now let's see if European leaders are utter hypocrites re: Kosovo.

If Spain does the unthinkable... if it had only happened when I was younger.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the former Ukip leader said: “This is Mr Juncker’s worst nightmare.

“The European Union backed Spanish brutality and turned the Catalans against the EU.

“This makes Brexit look like a Sunday afternoon picnic.”

What's ironic is that Catalonia was one of the most pro-EU parts of Spain.

I am more interested in what kind of constitution they will adopt.

Even more ironic, if there had been a real referendum, it probably would have been indecisive, maybe even a slightly majority for "Stay with Spain".

The Deployment of the Police State to crush the referendum, the refusal to dialogue, and then the Spanish Arrogance and Ham-Handedness in reducing Catalan autonomy (and EU's silence) caused this to go further than it probably would have.

But that's how Spain lost most of their Empire anyway.

Russia wants the west to break apart. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought ads on FB for this too.
CA independence is probably on their list too.

This being said there are deeper forces at play here.
Tribalism may be a destructive force but trying to suppress it is counterproductive.
You can't deny people their group identity.

"Calexit" movement leader - the guy named Luis Marinelli - fucking lives in fucking Russia. By pure coincidence, I'm sure.

Vowing to "quash" the Catalan government doesn't sound very democratic...

Interesting that Spain resorted to blocking DNS servers to stop people from finding information about the independence movement:

DNS really is a weak point in terms of internet freedom. We need some kind of replacement.
