Who is it gonna be Patnet?

Edit to OP. Who gets arrested? Someone is already indicted, my mistake.

So, according to the reports, during the Obama Administration, these guys were allowed to launder money gained through business dealings with DC bureaucrats close to the Sec of State and possibly higher. Also, operating as foreign agents without registering.

They were never investigated by that administration.

Got it.

I am sure this will be how it is framed in the media.

Tell me again why this is a scandal for Trump and not Obama/Clinton?

And don't give me that whole 'he was campaign manager for 2 months' bullshit.

I think, if you know how the world works, Manafort was probably steered into the campaign by DC power brokers who wanted a mole inside Trump's campaign.

Can anyone say "Podesta Brothers"? I knew you could!

Besides the 18 million, and 800K spent at a clothing store ... how desperate and sad does a 4:37am tweet from Trump look, claiming rambling BS about Fusion GPS and Obama? lol

Big dumb smile on my face right now.

Go deep state. Let the pants peeing commence.

That story is enormous and implicates the entire Obama admin and a bunch of Republicans as corrupt and treasonous. A catastrophic failure of government function, national security, and law & order took place there and Russia was a major player.

I sincerely hope they throw all of them in prison. Its past time for our politicians to fear stealing from the public.

Manafort and Gates also were accused of willfully and intentionally trying to hide monies kept in foreign bank accounts — Manafort from 2011 to 2014 and Gates from 2012 to 2014 . And Manafort was accused of filing fraudulent tax returns — stating on tax forms he filed from 2008 to 2014 that he controlled no foreign bank accounts.

The men made tens of millions of dollars for themselves, the special counsel alleged. From 2008 to 2014, according to the indictment,

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/manafort-and-former-business-partner-asked-to-surrender-in-connection-with-special-counsel-probe/2017/10/30/6fe051f0-bd67-11e7-959c-fe2b598d8c00_story.html?utm_term=.2a4a018cfc22

Amazing, as far back a s 2008, Manafort knew Trump was going to be President and that he would need to collude with the Russians. I can see how important that would be to Mueller investigating the 2016 elections.

Oh wait...

So, the FBI has been investigating Russian involvement for a year and a half, Manafort's house was raided in July, Mueller has a team of like 16 investigators on his crew, and this is the best "Russian Involvement" they could find?

Really?

Nope--it's the first shoe to drop. The lowest hanging fruit so to speak.

But don't forget about George Papadopolous:

"One of President Trump's former advisers from his presidential campaign has pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents investigating allegations of collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and the Russian government, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Monday.

George Papadopolous, the 30-year-old foreign policy adviser, pleaded guilty earlier this month, according to court filings unsealed on Monday. The DOJ unsealed the documents shortly after it announced charges against two other higher-ranking, Trump campaign officials - Paul Manafort and Rick Gates.
Prosecutors charged Papadopolous with lying to investigators about his conversations with a foreign professor who told him that Russians had thousands of emails containing "dirt" on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
The Trump aide allegedly told the FBI that those conversations happened before he joined the campaign, statements rebutted by the Justice Department's timeline."

This looks very interesting. He felt the need to lie about this--why? Has he turned on Trump?

errc nailed it.

Investigators go in, tell the subjects they are targets of criminal cases, send warrants to the secondary conspirators with the most knowledge of the crimes and the most to lose for the return they made on them and with the highest probability of ratting out the primary conspirators, sit them down, show them the latest copy of Brides magazine and press record.

Then the investigators sit with prosecutors and tune the indictments that matter with fresh direction, documentation and frameworks for indictment that satisfy the prosecutors' criteria for likelihood of success and, in some odd cases, likelihood of delivering some semblance of justice.

Here's another interesting line from that story:

"Mr. Papadopoulos was quietly arrested in July and has since been cooperating with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, records show."

Is this why Trump went on another Twitter rampage? Are the walls closing in on him? Things are quickly getting very interesting.

Tasking Robert Mueller to clean up the Russian collusion corruption problem is like asking Don Corleone to clean up the mafia problem.

So far he’s after someone for tax evasion.
The theory goes that he’s trying to get one of the indicted to flip and reveal collusion secrets about the Trump campaign for a plea deal, but since that entire story is a fabrication, it won’t work. Even if Manafort makes up a story, it won’t have the evidence behind it necessary to indict someone else.

I predict Mueller sits Manafort down and gives hi an ultimatum: confess to conspiring with the Russians to get Trump elected (in some illegal fashion) or we will throw the book at you and make sure you spend the rest of your life in the Federal Penitentiary.

That way, even if Manafort just lies to get out of jail and says he colluded in a “confession” that can never be corroborated by evidence, the Democrats get a token win and the grounds to assert Trump is a product of Russian collusion.

People will believe whichever side they want to believe, and the winners of the next election will rewrite history to reflect the “truth” they desire.

Actually, he's going after multiple people for the following:

lying to Federal Agents
money laundering
conspiracy against the United States
as well as other charges such as failing to file reports and not registering as a foreign agent

We are only on the verge of nuclear destruction if we start it.

I guess recognizing sarcasm isn't your strong suit. Its just another 48 hour cycle change... in 48hrs it will be forgotten and the group will move on to the next new "NEW THING". Meanwhile iwog and rosie are sitting on the edge of their seats, wringing their hands and pulling at their hair while chanting in sotto voice "we love you hillary, we love you". Willing the clock to move ahead closer to the hour of the rachel maddow show.
