Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was spotted Sunday hobnobbing with a person who is currently at the focus of the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s interference into the U.S. presidential election.

Clinton hung out with Sidney Blumenthal and political consultant Tony Podesta this weekend at the former Democratic presidential candidate birthday bash. Podesta’s appearance at the party is awkward, considering he has become a key figure in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian influence in the election.

Podesta is the brother of John Podesta, another person in Clinton’s inner circle, and the co-founder of the Podesta Group, a consulting firm that worked alongside Paul Manafort’s effort to lobby U.S. Congress’s support for Ukraine’s inclusion in the EU. Manafort was indicted Monday on tax evasion and conspiracy charges stemming from his lobbying efforts in 2012.

Mueller’s investigation into Podesta began as a fact-finding mission about Manafort’s role in the campaign but quickly morphed into a criminal inquiry into whether the firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, known as FARA, according to an NBC report earlier this month.

Tony Podesta Threatens Tucker Carlson After Bombshell Report On Russian Influence Peddling.

Tony Podesta sent a Cease and Decist letter to “Tucker Carlson Tonight” hours after resigning from his role at the Podesta Group – a D.C. lobbying firm accused by a former executive of pedaling Russian influence along with fellow lobbyist and short-lived Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.

Of note, Monday's indictment lists "Company A" and "Company B" as firms involved in the investigation - which NBC reports are the Podesta Group and DC public relations firm Mercury Public Affairs.

Last week Carlson reported that Tony Podesta is a central figure in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Directly after his report, Carlson’s show was contacted by a former long-time executive of the Podesta Group with “direct personal knowledge” of Tony Podesta’s questionable activities, which Carlson divulged the next evening.

While the nature of Podesta’s threat has not been made public, Carlson later tweeted “We’re confident the Mueller probe will reveal a lot more about Tony Podesta’s lobbying practices in the near future.”

Podesta Group Considering Dropping 'Podesta' From Its Name To Keep Clients.

The "Podesta Group," a huge lobbying outfit in Washington D.C., says they're considering changing their name, after the group and their founder, Tony Podesta, were referenced in Monday's indictments.

Podesta, a prominent lobbyist — and brother of Clinton presidential campaign chairman, John Podesta — wasn't mentioned by name in documents charging former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort with failing to report millions in assets from foreign governments, but the Podesta Group was one of the lobbying firms that helped Manafort lobby Congress on behalf of a pro-Putin Ukranian leader.

As a result, The New York Times reports, the Group has been hemorrhaging clients — an exodus that began in August, when Mueller issued subpoenas to Podesta's firm, and only intensified yesterday as Tony Podesta resigned his position as the group's chief lobbyist.

Senior officials with the group also told clients, reportedly, that the group is considering a complete marketing overhaul, changing branding, signage, and commercial materials to distance themselves from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Kimberley Fritts, the longtime chief executive of the Podesta Group, is leaving the firm to start her own lobbying shop, according to three Podesta Group staffers.

Tony Podesta, the firm's founder, tapped Fritts as his successor when he announced he'd step down as chairman last week, hours after an indictment was unsealed, charging Paul Manafort and his deputy, Rick Gates, with violating foreign lobbying law.

Fritts had been expected to relaunch the Podesta Group under a new name in the days after Podesta stepped down. But after more than a week of working to hammer out the details of what the new firm would look like, Fritts announced at a staff meeting late this afternoon, that she would resign and start a new firm, exacerbating questions about the future of the Podesta Group and its dozens of employees.

I am still surprised Trump let this farce go along so far. Clinton paid the Russians through an intermediary. The DNC colluded with the Russians-why are they still investigating Trump-this is ridiculous.

Mueller may very well have some surprises for everybody.

Watch Mueller get demonized if even one Blue Loyalist gets charged.
