I'm part of that percentage.

I'm very hesitant to share any political opinions outside of close friends and family, and PatNet.

I've literally hung up on polling companies who have pinged me for opinions. Don't have the time, and don't know who is recording the information.

Not surprising at all. In SV being honest about your views can literally cost you a job.

I think Trump Voters are mostly afraid to share their views, because they either don’t have any, or they’re afraid of opening their mouths and removing any doubt that they are fools. It’s a healthy fear! You suck at being an American

Any real American would never live in fear of criticism of their ideas, unless they have no conviction in them

Right. And the idea of vote being secret is just some arbitrary and unnecessary bullshit... Did you know that in USSR they had the option to go into a voting booth to fill out the bulletin, but nobody ever went there, because true Comrade has nothing to hide from the Party?

You're on the right track, comrades!

6   anonymous   2017 Oct 31, 1:03pm

So what are these super secret great ideas you are afraid to share?

I’m betting they don’t exist, and your fear stems from your lack of ideas, however, I’m open to being proven wrong.

This post sort of exemplifies why I don't talk politics in general to people I don't really know.

Because you have no ideas, or you just lack any conviction of them?

I’m dying to hear what these secret ideas are, that as an American, you live in fear of sharing.

My apologies. I’ve been hearing the same thing for so long, that Republicans have ideas but they aren’t allowed to be heard. Every time I ask them what they are, they never answer, so I wrongly assumed you were in that camp.

So what are your ideas that you feel you’re not allowed to free speech on?
11   anonymous   2017 Oct 31, 4:20pm

But that hasn't changed right? Trump's approval rating was about 50/50 when the election happened but now it's in the toilet. I find it impossible to believe that people got all shy once Trump won. In fact it's almost guaranteed the opposite happened and the fact he became president made people less sheepish about supporting him.

You don't know what it's like to be a White Patriotic American in a post Obama dystopia. There's lots of work to be done, before we can MAGA again, but we will fookers.

This is absolutely true. It certainly cost me at least one job, and I'm hardly extreme in my opinions.

Why would you choose to subject yourself to any lame business like that?

I’d be happy to know that before I gave them any of my time

Ostracized by whom?

You know we have the right to free speech here in this country? I think you guys confuse what that means. Anyone has the right to say anything they want, but it comes at a price: others are allowed to hold you accountable for what you say. How else would you expect Free Speech to work?

I'm not a registered Republican, but what topics are you talking about specifically? I've seen lots of GOP politicians talk about their ideas on say... immigration. They are actually very vocal about those ideas. But do you have topics in mind that aren't being addressed?
29   Shaman   2017 Nov 1, 8:45am

Errc is living in the Bible Belt and feeling terribly oppressed by the marijuana laws. It colors practically all his feelings on cops, conservatives, and the law.

Here in Liberal California, our conservatives smoke weed (and it’s legal) and are mostly concerned with 1)increasingly unbearable tax load, 2)being pushed out of anywhere by illegal immigrants, 3)SJW action being codified into government and corporate policies so that free speech comes with terrific personal consequences.

He doesn’t have all that there in rural Pennsylvania and so doesn’t understand.

I’m not the one claiming that I’m oppressed to the point where I’m not allowed to speak my mind or share my ideas. Personally I prioritize Healthcare, Housing, Jobs/Economy, and The Police State (which would fall under a “return to law and order”). I feel that Hemp/Cannabis Prohibition, and the federal government lying and the DEA labeling it as a Schedule 1 drug, is at the root of many problems, and it’s the simplest wrong to right. Most Americans agree, so much so that more than half of the States have democratically voted to position themselves on the other side of the Failed War on Drugs. Republicans are literally waging war against the citizenry at immense costs with incalculable harm, all for what?

I never knew the Susquehanna Valley was considered the Bible Belt.

You mis characterize my position. It’s not me feeling oppressed, it’s me feeling that everyone is not merely oppressed, but harmed by Hemp/Cannabis Prohibition. Why can’t my dying grandma in central Florida use topical salves for pain management? She like most thinking people have no interest in the dangerous pharmaceutical drugs peddled by The State at CVS. They make her feel like shit. I know she tried Kratom (wtf) but it’s sad that as a supposedly Free American, that the Fed Gov is prohibiting her legal access to a cheap, safe alternative. Or how about my mentor? He was a Navy Seal, and suffered a freak injury to his back/spine. He refuses to be addicted to the harmful opiates that the State approves, he says they don’t work, make him feel like shit, and he doesn’t want to become addicted. He’s looked into moving to another state, but it’s still federally illegal everywhere. He also said smoking grass is the only thing that works for him, and that it works so much better than the opiates. He tells me of the younger vets he works with, how it crushes his soul that they have PTSD from sacrificing themselves for this country and yet they don’t have the freedoms that Canadians do to treat PTSD with Cannabis. I could go on and on but you get the point.

Cops, Conservatives, and the law color themselves, I’m not sure what control you feel I have over them.

There in Liberal California....ah yes, like you guys say , Liberals ruined everything. Yet you still choose to live there and enjoy the benefits of a Liberal state government and citizenry who fought against the Conservative Federal Government, to give you back those rights. In Liberal Colorado you even have the right to die on your own terms.

There’s a rot in this country and it is the Church disrespecting the Constitution and infecting the government. It was never meant to be this way, and blame falls squarely on the Christians for most all of these horrifically bad government policies. They are the OG SJW’s who have codified their nonsense into law, and are the sole reason that Republicans continually hold power.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Democrat and simply voting in Democrats isn’t a solution. However, the people that continually vote in Republicans as a reaction that “Liberals are bad!” Without giving thought to what Republicans are and what they do, are problematic. Liberals aren’t bad, Liberals are great Americans that built this country

In Santa Cruz, you can't say you voted for Trump, but within seconds, a homeless guy is stabbing you with used needles and tattooed lesbians are taking a shit on your shoe.
Welcome to free speech Cali.

Hahahahahahahahah, hahahahahahahah ! Lol lmao !!

Sometimes TPB cracks me up so hard.

So the reason Trumps approval ratings are so low, is that Trump supporters don't like to speak up and say what they really think. You know, because of the fascist thought police. Hahahahahahahahahahahahah ! hahahahahahaha ! Oh, that's the best laugh I've had in a while.
