If cheap young laborers help the US so much, doesn't Central America losing them hurt those countries in turn?

Hmmm....

Another question: if Mexico has universal healthcare why the mother of that girl whose detention was in the news recently is saying that they had to come to US because they couldn't afford to treat her back home?

Who says they will help OUR economy? They help the economy/profits of the corporations and people that employ them.

Exactly..."our economy, our country, etc."...It's funny how most people still believe that all americans are united towards a common cause. Not only that, they think that their own best interests are the common cause. Maybe one day they will grow up.

mexico does have good cheap healthcare...But there are some who think that they need a "high priced specialist" to treat a rare ailment. Sometimes that specialist in the usa donates his services or a group of americans arrange it.

Her parents struggled to pay for her cerebral palsy treatments on Ms. de la Cruz’s partner’s earnings as a construction worker. Rosa Maria’s brain tests alone cost 300 pesos each, and she had them three times a day, at a time when the minimum professional wage was about 60 pesos a day.

Three times a day brain scans for CP? That doesn't even begin to make sense. There is no test for CP. Doctors review symptoms and history to diagnose CP. They may take a ct (as in 1 not 1 a day) to rule out other possible causes of problems. Once it's diagnosed the treatment is physical therapy. The child certainly could have had galbladder surgery in Mexico. Something doesn't even come close to adding up with this story. Do you suppose they may have not been completely truthful?

Winning is when you’re relegated to comparing U.S Healthcare to Mexico’s

Oh I thought Mexico’s universal healthcare was soooo good, huh? Lmao

Why do conservatives always try to put emotion into the conversation?

Do you know what the word emotion means?
13   HEY YOU   2017 Nov 5, 8:54am

Why have Trump & Rep/Cons allowed illegals to stay in America?
Will Trump call for charges to be brought against Republicans as domestic enemies that use illegals?
How many fur-er-ners has Trump used in his businesses?
He buys Communist China imports that steal jobs from Americans.

Why are you asking piggy? But, I'll assume that means no, you don't know.

Two Scoops - while you are a pondering how about talking about the 70 visas Trump got approval for to hire workers at Mar-A-Lago while ignoring the 5,100 something qualified, able and ready to work in the area.

5,100 local applicants for a seasonal job? Or is that some 538 "data science" fudge numbers?

You realize that Mar-A-Lago is busiest November-April, which is exactly when college students and women with children and others seeking seasonal work aren't off, yes? Nov-April is not school/general vacation time in Poland or Guatemala, either.

Of course, when we limit visas to the bare minimum, we'll have firms bringing workers around the USA when needed to ski lodges and sunny vacation destinations, including room and board. Lack of supply and same demand=better prices.

You're making a great argument against immigration.

Maybe so.

The answer to the question in the meme is, because of self interest. Coming here was better for the immigrants than staying in their country. Low wages there are much lower than low wages here. IT has nothing to do with which country benefitted the most by having them as citizens.

Yes, of course. It does hurt low wage earners in the US, since increasing supply of labor retards wage gains and increases housing costs.

Seasonal work visa's aren't immigration.
