Here’s the leader of the New Republicans calling Shrub Jr. the most destructive President the USA has ever had. I’ll be interested to hear what our resident trolls say about this statement.

From the article:
“It says something about Bush that Bush is here attacking, once again attacking President Trump and being just as vitriolic as possible. I’ll reiterate this: I think President Bush 43 will go down in history as the single most destructive in the United States – and I include James Buchanan in that, the president before the Civil War,” he asserted.

“Now, what do I mean by that? He had three major policy initiatives that virtually destroyed the country. Number One was the Iraq war, $6 trillion in Iraq and Afghanistan, the wars still haven’t been won. Iraq is as big of a disaster as it’s ever been. It’s caused total chaos in the Middle East. And it was either he outright lied to the American people or he’s just totally incompetent and misread what the information was,” he charged.

“The second was the financial crisis,” Bannon continued. “The financial crisis happened on his watch. It came to a head in September 2008. He just walked away from it, didn’t come up with any solutions. The thing was a debacle. We still suffer from that today. The solution was to, you know, flood the zone with liquidity, trillions and trillions of dollars of liquidity have inflated assets and made the owners of equity and real estate filthy rich, and the working men and women of this country have gotten stiffed after they had to pay for the bailouts.”

“But the most important part of what he was destructive about is China. It was on his watch they really set in motion Most Favored Nation and getting into the WTO. I know the Clintons pushed that and tried to implement it, but Bush looked at China, the whole Bush administration said China is going to get wealthier, is becoming more democratic, and more free-market capitalist. That was a massive, massive mistake,” he said.”

Liberals have dementia, the guy was the biggest piranha on Earth when he left office. But by after 8 years of Obama they are hugging him and making him guest of honor at TDS festivals.

I agree that Bush made some huge mistakes. Iraq war was one, and tax cuts at a time when they are not needed is another. That combined with Greenspan calling the housing bubble harmless froth was fuel on an asset inflation fire. Ironically, Trump is on a path to repeat both mistakes. He's gelling into quite the war president, saber rattling away. He's also calling for big tax cuts at a time when they are not particularly needed. He's calling for big corporate cuts at a time when corporations are rolling in cash, and have been very profitable for the past 7 years. He's doing all of this when stocks are already priced high and real estate has long passed the last bubble.
Now, we will have to wait another 16 years to have the same hindsight that we now have with Bush. But I find this analysis a bit ironic.

Bannon/Trump's anti-trade and anti-cooperation (globalization) stance is new. I believe that what Trump is finding out is that the military likes globalization (the new world order) a lot, as it gives us a lot of power today (indefinitely as long as we can keep economic strength) and has resulted in a very long stretch with no world war. Bannon/Trump are making the bet that the only way to insure future economic strength is by restricting trade with the rest of the world. I believe the opposite will happen, because most of the economists that I've read have said as much, and the theory (cooperation leads to inefficiencies) makes sense to me.

Bush and his dad are part of the same globalist wrecking crew that the Clintons have lifetime memberships to.

Still think Reagan is the worst followed closely by Bush Jr. and Obama. Reagan will loose historical popularity as the boomer looters die off that made off with future generations wealth. Bush Jr was horrible and got us into a bullshit fake war, but all of the China and offshoring stuff was set in motion mostly by Reagan and Bush Sr. Trump has only had a year and hasn't done enough to tell where he's going to land in the mix.

And Republicans were forced to buy Communist China imports.

Ok then. If you’re so committed to the idea of globalization as a cure for world war and a panacea tomglobal prosperity, shall we lift all sanctions against Russia and make them say, our second favorite trading partner? Surely there are lots of things to trade, and we could even connect the entire globe with a transcontinental highway that reaches through Canada and Alaska to zip across the narrow Bering Sea to Siberia and on towards Europe? What an absolutely epic journey that would be in an RV! Kids from Boston could jump in the jalopy and be in Prague in a couple of weeks!

Or are we still so butthurt over an imaginary Russian collusion hack that we can’t consider it?
