Gunman who was 'out on bond for stabbing woman' goes on rampage shooting neighbors and children at an elementary school.

Five people are dead and 10, including two children, have been hospitalized after a gunman went on a killing spree through a northern Californian town on Tuesday morning.

The unnamed gunman was eventually killed by police at the Rancho Tehama Elementary School in northern California where he opened fire on students and staff as parents dropped off their children at around 8am.

He killed at least four people and injured numerous others before he was gunned down at the school which was his final stop on a deadly drive through the town.

The shooting spree began at 7.52am where he shot several residents on Bobcat Lane, where he lived. Witnesses said one man died in his driveway as a result of the first round of bullets.

Neighbors there say they had been complaining for weeks about the gunman, who lived on the street, firing his gun late at night and early in the morning.

'My truck was stolen and used today in the crime and it's terrible,' Brian Flint told KHSLTV.

The man added that the gunman was 'crazy' and that he was on bond for stabbing one of his female neighbors.

'As far as we know he was crazy. He shoots a lot of gunshots at night, in the morning. Like a hundred rounds,' he said.

He claimed to have called police numerous times to report the man for shooting his gun late at night and early in the morning.

He also said the female victim of the apparent stabbing was the wife of a neighbor who the gunman was fighting with.

If we just had some additional gun laws, this Felon wouldn't have obtained his weapons, wouldn't have stabbed that women, stolen a truck, shot people as he drove along the street.

Apparently in CA, convicted felons can own firearms and shoot them like crazy in the backyard without the police investigating.

Don't actually have a problem with your gun stance here. I'll be honest though, you've made two comments to your original post. Are you arguing with yourself or just trying to make a point? It's not quite right to me.

A Red Bluff Daily News crime log from February 2017 reported: “Kevin Janson Neal: 43, of Corning was arrested Tuesday in the 6900 block of Bobcat Lane in Rancho Tehama. He was booked into Tehama County Jail on the charges of assault with deadly weapon not firearm or force, great bodily injury likely, battery on person, crime against elder or dependent adult, discharge firearm with gross negligence and false imprisonment with violence. Bail was $160,000.”

Neal’s neighbor told the news media early on that his roommate was shot and that the gunman was a felon named Kevin. The witness, Brian Flint, “said he received a call in the morning that his roommate was injured and that his truck had been stolen too,” reported The Record Searchlight, quoting him as saying, “The crazy thing is that the neighbor has been shooting a lot of bullets lately, hundreds of rounds, large magazines. We made it aware that this guy is crazy and he’s been threatening us.”

A past history of felonies and the neighbors had called police to report him shooting behind his house. This tragedy is on the hands of the local cops.

How about the Google Earth photography truck that picked up the junkies shooting up on River Street in Santa Cruz? Talk about local charm.

That little dog looks like it's got a service dog sweater on. That's all the rage now so people can take their pets into restaurants and libraries. I doubt if the dog does him much good, though.

If he could have belonged to a nudist hippie cult with free love and piles of free drugs, screwing flower child girls with hairy armpits all day, this never would have happened. He is another victim of a world gone wrong.

California mass shooter killed wife, buried her beneath floor.

The gunman blamed for the deadly rampage in northern California began his killing spree by fatally shooting his wife and stashing her body beneath the floorboards of their home, police revealed Wednesday.

Word of the grim discovery came a day after Kevin Janson Neal gunned down four other people and attacked an elementary school before he was killed by police.

"We were looking for his wife, couldn't find her yesterday," said Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said. "We located her dead body concealed under the floor of the residence."

Johnston, who did not identify Neal's wife by name, said police believe she was killed on Monday.

"We are confident he murdered her, shot her ... literally put her body in the floor, covered it up," he said.

Asked about a possible motive, Johnston said, "I think he had a desire to kill as many people as he could."

Neal's sister, Sheridan Orr of Cary, North Carolina, described her brother as "an all-American kid" who had been grappling with mental illness and had a hair-trigger temper.

"It had continually deteriorated over, I would say, since October of last year," she told NBC News. "I loved him as my brother but I didn't recognize him. ... He seemed possessed or demonic."

There's going to be a sheriff looking for a new job soon.

Judge ordered gunman to surrender weapons before he killed wife and hid body under their Rancho Tehama home.

None of the guns were legally in Neal's possession, Johnston said. The two rifles were "homemade" and unregistered and the two pistols were registered to another person, he said.

A signed court order following Neal's arrest in January for attacking his neighbor shows he was ordered on April 1 to surrender all firearms.

Johnston said deputies were familiar with the gunman.

"We? have a history with him," Johnston said. "He was out on bail for assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in January. He was not law enforcement friendly."

Tehama County Dist. Atty. Gregg Cohen said he saw an increasing social problem underlying the incident.

"We see a dramatic problem with mental health, drugs, alcohol, poverty and firearms. That mix is a tremendous problem. It is growing," he said. "I'm not speaking just to Tehama County. This is a concern, it appears nationwide.

"We're all suffering the same epidemic. It's the deadly combination of those in that mix. Mental health, drugs, alcohol, poverty, firearms."
