Here is a perfectly normal (though left-leaning) woman who attempted to have a neutral debate about gender pronouns. Her mistake was in thinking that she would be allowed to have a neutral debate where all sides could present their views. She was instructed "there is no debate" allowed at her university about gender pronouns, and that she had better squash critical thinking rather than encourage it if she wanted to remain there. Fortunately, she made some audio recordings to prove that this is exactly what happened.

I give her maybe another year or two of these experiences before she understands exactly how Trump got elected and then openly supports his election (though her own case happened in Canada).

https://globalnews.ca/news/3870557/wilfred-laurier-freedom-of-expression-lindsay-shepherd/
Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario owes teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd an apology, according to a freedom of speech expert.

James Turk, the director of Ryerson University’s Centre for Free Expression, said he was “appalled” after hearing a recording of a meeting between the TA and school officials, in which she was reprimanded for playing a video showing a debate over gender pronouns.

“I’ve been following this story closely, and quite frankly I’m appalled at how Lindsay Shepherd has been treated at Laurier,” he told Global News.

“It’s inexcusable.”
Shepherd, who spoke with Global News Monday, said she has gotten hundreds of messages of support but has yet to hear back from the university.

The TA was reprimanded by the school earlier this month, for showing a YouTube video of University of Toronto professor Jordan Peterson, who infamously refused to use gender pronouns other than “he” or “she.”

Faculty and administration at the university, in recordings provided to Global News by Shepherd, accused the TA of showing hate-filled content to students. They said Shepherd should have — at the very least — denounced the video before playing it.

As you know, I’ve been mocked here for saying the totalitarian threat is from the left, not the right.

Trump is literally no totalitarian threat whatsoever, despite the bleating of much of the media.
2   Patrick   2017 Dec 2, 1:29pm

I agree. The threat to our freedoms is entirely from an overbearing and arrogant left that tolerates zero dissent.

And then they wonder out loud what drives people to support Trump.

So step number one for national healing and unity needs to be real support for listening to all points of view.

It takes years to develop wisdom, years millennials haven't invested yet. It amazes me they shirk the talents that Youth may afford them to focus on the one they wont have until they have experience doing all of the other shit first.

There's plenty to be annoyed by the man in a normal world where Liberals are pretending they are Americans too, and accepted Trump won and we all moved on.
But we don't get to experience his grating short comings. because he's a fucking savant genius at showing the Democrats what Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy were all trying to say.

I like that, but sometimes I resent for robbing me of plenty to mock.
He's mocked for the wrong reasons by the left. His real faux pas are no worse than almost every other president since the television age.
But to call him Hitler, Nazi, KKK, a crazed maniac that will unleash Nuclear war unprovoked and the hyperbole that he wouldn't along with world leaders.
We never got the time to laugh at Trump's hamburger at the freaking Disney land of Sushi. And his other endearing quirks.

The only reason I support Trump is for:
Islam
Dictators
Economy

If these problems could be solved by pussy Dems, I would have voted for Hillary.

BTW, like I mentioned in another thread, anon_ posters have to be especially civil if they want their comments to show up.

Just show some good will and stick to the topic in the original post, and I'll let the comments through.

Registered users get a lot more respect from me.

WHAT!!!! Are you looking for time out in the corner?? :)

Didn't you tell us you learned after 2012 with Obama?

He he he. Yes, I learned from my mistakes. I apologize to all Americans for the harm I caused. That is why I now support Trump, and will support him in the next Presidential elections.

That's ironic because this website was a bastion of free speech until Patrick because a Trump supporter and then, all of the sudden, he felt the need to censor posts and "jail" them. Sure seems like it's Trumpkins that are just as guilty of stifling speech.

From what I see, Patrick fully supports free speech including harsh criticism to him. It's the excessive 4 letter personal attacks from one patnetter to the other that is the problem. You have to draw the line somewhere. For me personally the insults, goats, sheep etc was quite entertaining.
There must be a way of getting the best of both worlds, where individuals can pick and choose.
@Patrick is that possible?

There’s not. Much like the DNC, their supporters also appear incapable of following rules.

I see. So we have The Far Right in absolute control of the entire government, and yet it’s somehow the left that is hindering you from expressing your point of view. That is so far removed from reality, I’m not sure how to discuss it at this point. I’d ask you what exactly it is that you’re not able to share or convey, and who exactly is stopping you, but you Trumpcucks never answer.

Trump won because Hillary was a horrible candidate and Christian/Evangelicals aren’t real individuals with thinking minds rather sheep controlled to only ever vote Republican.

You guys used to say Trump was elected to Repeal and Replace Heritage Foundation Care, and build The Wall, along with whatever other marketing you bought into, until it was apparent that no chance he’d even attempt to make good on his promises. Now it’s silly abstract like “he still gone MAGA! Defeat the Libruls! You know pol pot, Stalin, do you know of a good place to meat Trannies? Asking for a friend”

15   Y   2017 Dec 3, 8:18am

Yup. It's called 'ignore.
But some people are just snowflaked out to the point where just knowing somebody else is posting drives them nuts, even though they can't see them, and they then start campaigns to have people kicked out.
Ignore does need to be tweaked so that if a person you are ignoring is quoted by another user, then that post is not shown on your screen.

We live in a scary world. There is nothing new in the behavior of the left. Weather it was Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot-lefties always squelch dissent and allow only one way of thought to exists. They operate from pure hate and emotion . You can't win with them-they think they are pure as the driven snow. My parents immigrated from a leftie/socialist country-which has moved away. never thought America would become a leftie hellhole-witness SF with people shitting on the streets and freeing murderers.

Really ?

I'll admit that there is a problem on the left, but it's a small part of the left. Many liberals, even a majority of liberals at universities (real liberal intellectuals - not the gender studies or other SJWs in bullshit majors) don't support that nonsense. It's self correcting. E.g. in the case with the incident with that grad student in Canada, her supervisor has had to apologize and admit to being wrong..

Here's an honest discussion of the situation at colleges (Jordan Peterson and Jonathon Haidt) www.youtube.com/embed/4IBegL_V6AA

But here's an argument that you won't even be capable of considering re:

"Trump is literally no totalitarian threat whatsoever"

Suppose HYPOTHETICALLY that it comes out that there is an extremely legitimate reason to remove Trump from office. Fox news and talk radio will be mobilized to call all of the most reality based media out there, "fake news." He is trying to implement something akin to pravda. If he could you must know that he would insttitute a dictatorship and a state run media, where he gets to say what's true and what's false.

You can't see it, because in your eyes that's what the so called establishment already is. And Trump's constant dishonesty and embarrassing leadership is somehow just the price republicans are willing to pay to have their side win. (supposedly overthrowing the evil reality based folks with their so called "facts, truth and reasoning.")

How does the example of Trump's dishonesty not bother you ? What kind of example does it set ? We're going to have more and more TPBs of the world spouting nonsensical lies as a means to an end ? A lot of children are learning that even at the highest levels you can believe whatver you want to believe, even if it flies in the face of well known facts.

This is fucked up ! It's not what America was or what it was meant to be.
21   marcus   2017 Dec 3, 4:29pm

I'm sympathetic to the Lindsey Sheppard story, and I like and agree with a lot of Jordan Peterson's talks.

But it doesn't begin to make me like even a single thing about Donald Trump being President. I believe he may be doing irreparable damage to our government, to our culture and to our people.

Years ago on this site, (arguing I think with "bap33") I talked about what I saw as a very real storm brewing with a lot of people that were going to have a hard time with upcoming demographic shifts, especially with "white" folks becoming a smaller and smaller percentage of the overall population. I saw Bap and TPB as early indicators on this. What I would not have predicted is that so soon we would have a politician with hard core right wing (serving only the interests of the owners) exploit this trend so well and so much to his advantage.

I'll admit that ultimately the SJWs helped make that possible. That combined with globalization and declining real incomes of the working class. (as if either of those are the fault of liberals).

They could still see their tormentors in secondary posts...
