I would have told him to tell his useless partner to cuff me while he kept his gun trained on me. When I was down with my hands on my head.
I would not have crawled and would have told him what I thought about his training, and when this is over I'll have his job.

He was playing "Simon says "GET SOME!" Rat-a-tat-TAT-TAT!!!!"

The murderer is 5’8” tall, 160 lb. why do we allow these little sissies to join the peace force? Of course they will always be acting out of pure fear, at that size you’re going to wet yourself over everything.

I’m guessing with those horrendous tattoos, the usual defend all things Republican crowd will be lining up to defend him, after they whack off to some gay porn. #MAGA !

Actually we're wondering where's the Liberal outrage for police brutality. Where's Councilor Crumb?

So many problems here:
Snitches who freak out about a pellet gun in someone's room.
Police who shoot unarmed, drunk men who crawl like drunk men.
Juries who deem police murder legal.
A country where law is upheld over morality.

I'm not sure I can watch the video of police officer Philip Brailsford murdering Daniel Shaver in Mesa, Arizona in 2016. I have been avoiding it. I started on it and watched 34 seconds, then stopped.

Okay, I decided I HAD to watch the video. Officer Brailsford is a morally depraved coward, and a psychologically unsound person that should never have been allowed any sort of authority, nor possession of a gun of any sort. The guy is a complete idiot with a hero-complex that probably overdosed on shoot-them-up video games, superhero cartoons and movies when he was a kid. Brailsford has zero human insight, or was wantonly looking to ignore the signs of a harmless situation. Any fool can see that a man and a woman who just wander (upon order) out of a hotel room like the victims did are NOT criminals of any sort. The victims were completely surprised by the excessive show of force by the police.

"There is a very severe possibility that you are both going to get shot".
"Shut up. I'm not here to be tactical or diplomatic with you. You listen, you obey".

Brailsford is LOOKING for a reason to shoot someone, anyone. He is a psychopathic cold-blooded murderer looking for a murder he can get away with.

I would like to know how many jurors voted not guilty in this case.
7   Shaman   2017 Dec 11, 11:09am

Tragic and avoidable situation if the police officer wasn’t being both a pussy and a dick. His actions weren’t serving or protecting the community.
8   justme   2017 Dec 11, 11:14am

The widow should get a restraining order (protection order) against Philip Brailsford. This is a real case where a protection order makes sense. Come to think of it, EVERYONE should get a protection order against Philip Brailsford, meaning he should have been found guilty and sent to prison for life. This is also a case where the death penalty might be invoked. Brailsford has been looking to murder his whole life.
9   anonymous   2017 Dec 11, 11:23am

That terrorist should be sent to gitmo for life.
10   anonymous   2017 Dec 11, 11:23am

This was an act of terrorism, plain and simple.
11   justme   2017 Dec 11, 11:26am

One could wish that George Zimmerman (the murderer of Trayvon Martin) and Philip Brailford (the murderer of Daniel Shaver) would meet one evening by coincidence in a dark alley. That would be what we used to call poetic justice.

They are both murderers looking for a situation where they could get away with murdering someone just so they could feel dominant.

The Jury who let this psychopath go and the jury that let Kate Steinle's illegal alien murderer go should never serve on a jury again, and in all honesty should be forced to publicly answer for their verdicts.

Where is blm? Is kapernik kneeling?

Nah... he’s white, liberals don’t care about him.

He should have just played dead at that point like he fainted.
15   Strategist   2017 Dec 11, 8:03pm

I would like to know both sides of the story before I make a decision. Something tells me there is more to the decision the jury made.
16   Goran_K   2017 Dec 11, 8:07pm

I’ll be honest, I hope Karma comes and someone does that guy in. Some gang banger or cartel smuggler. Just kills him and does what the justice system failed to do.
17   anonymous   2017 Dec 12, 9:12am

l hate to sound like CIC but the problem with all there cases is they fail to report what info was conveyed to the cop when he approached the scene.

You get all sorts of cases where a witness calls 911 (wrongly) claiming things like "I heard gunshots. He already shot someone - and some woman in the hallway said to hide as he is going door to door killing everyone PLEASE HURRY!!!"

Obviously when the officer gets there he quickly realizes it's not as dire as dispatch told him - but in a spread out area like this imagine spending 20 minutes in your cruiser amping up for a full scale battle for human lives.

Yeah, the jury didn't get to see the video. The prosecution was also forbidden to accurately describe the events including what the pig said to the victim. Add to that stacking the jury with pro-cop people who wouldn't let a cop stand trial for any crime...
19   anonymous   2017 Dec 12, 9:13am

Point being- juries are stupid but not that stupid. What courtroom testimony did they hear (which which wasn't reported to us) which caused the acquittal

You seem to believe our system actually cares about justice. Try watching Making a Murderer, or Confessions on Netflix. Or just try to find the number of times a cop was prosecuted for abusing his power, under the same guidelines and laws that everyone else is prosecuted with.
22   Y   2017 Dec 13, 11:07am

dude is told to keep his hands down or he dies.
dude is crawling towards the cop, and then moves his right hand behind him like he's getting a gun out of his waistband.
dude gets shot.
While I can think of 100 alternative ways the cops could have got the dude into custody other than making him perform a deathcrawl down the corridor, bottom line is dude did not follow cops instructions, like the vast majority of other people shot by cops.

dude got what he deserved for not listening to cop
If that method of taking someone into custody is not the official police department method, then the cop should be jailed a long time for setting up the situation for the guy to be shot.
If that is the police department method, then the cop who designed it should be jailed for a very long time.

That is incorrect according to the newspaper report linked below. It says that the prosecutor, Susie Charbel, showed the video to the jury several times. Just because a video is noted as not being released to the public does not mean that the jury did not see it. It is common that a jury sees material that has not been released to the public.

>>(Deputy County Attorney Susie) Charbel played the video to the jury several times.

The fact is that the jury saw the video several times. Which makes it even more unbelievable that Brailsford was acquitted.

Unsubstantiated opinion.

Here's a fun game you can play at your next social gathering. Get roaring drunk, have someone point a loaded gun at you, and attempt to do a perfect crawl down the hallway of the home. If you fail, they get to splatter your ass!
