Two FBI officials who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation exchanged text messages last year in which they appear to have discussed ways to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok wrote in a cryptic text message to Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and his mistress.

“It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok wrote in the text, dated Aug. 15, 2016.

I can't believe this is happening in America. The deep state has an insurance against the president. I think this whole special counsel is to hide the Hillary collusion with America.

Of course!, FBI agents always write up murder plans for presidents in clear text to make sure there is a record that allows them to claim expenses for the time expended!

Jokes aside-this si a top FBI agent who discussed an insurance policy against trump with Andy-who is alleged to be Andrew McCabe. if true-scary times. This si their own words. The deputy director of the FBI discussing an insurance policy against the president with his top agents-this should scare any normal person-imagine what would happen toa normal person against the FBI.

If Gowdy thinks he's just going to poke the hornets nest with a shit stick for cable news optics then never mention it again, he's sadly mistaking.
We need millions of voters marching on DC this weekend demanding the resignation of Mueller and the incarceration of the FBI agents who have been using their Job to settle a score with our President.

Hillary is hoarding all the trannies for herself, not fair! Why not share a few with the insatiable MAGA crowd?

This is impossible. Giuliani assured us that the fbi was Trump land. Team Trump wore the label as a point of pride. It was a badge of honor that the fbi would favor Trump during the election.

No offense - but I'm a lawyer and I work for a client with top secret clearance- some real "deep state" shit as you might refer to it.

If I wrote something casually like that to my wife (another spook lawyer ). and my texts were hacked - would gateway pundit point to it as "proof " of some deep state conspiracy?

Coup? More like the guy is talking about quitting the FBI and looking for a job in the private sector.

I'm not into this type of shit at all from the OP. This comment caught my eye though. I generally don't think "deep state" stuff is going on. But these text messages, if confirmed real, should be taken seriously. Not in the context of a huge, over arching deep state. But that the feelings and words are legit. They didn't like Trump. If you make stuff up about things with your wife in text messages that's fine. Normal people don't.

I would be utterly embarrassed if the texts between my wife and I were shown to some people we know. Why? Because we may have been bashing them and truthfully, the conversation was an honest one. We were saying things that 9 out of 10 people would agree with. Unfortunately for me, I'm not investigating anyone that I would be bashing. It's a bad look for the FBI, I think that's indisputable. Not certain it points to deep state action against a sitting president though.

They were talking about severance packages with guaranteed appearances in "The Apprentice".

Wow-this is how nations fall. The top FBI agents were talking openly about an insurance policy against the President and you compare that to the aliens. Liberals-this is how support for Stalin and Pol Pot emerge. Then it becomes too late. If this is how the President is treated, now I am actually beginning to understand BLM. The poor shcmuck does not stand a chance. We are the nation with the highest imprisonment rate in the whole world.

Why are we suggesting that there IS an insurance policy against Trump? The guy in the text said something was "like an insurance policy" which is the type of analogy I use frequently when introduce or suggest a hedge of some sort.

What if the "insurance policy" was them buying a house near a relative in Iowa in case all hell broke loose in DC under the trump regime or he did something crazy like cut the ranks of the FBI in half? Why cant it be "like their insurance policy" to go live on that land that they bought?

othing burger here. 70% of the America is anti trump with new folks joining every day.

If this is the straw that Trump folks are hanging on - he will not be saved.

This is not about Trump. This is the leadership of the FBI actively planning against an opposition candidate-and possibly colluding with Russia and waging a propaganda campaign.
