There are 435 seats open in the House. Getting the Senate only requires +2, but you are correct, that the Dems are handicapped by the numbers defending in 2018.

And it only figures to get worse after this POS tax bill gets passed.
Keep this is mind when Dems say there is going to be some magic sweep. Even IF the Dems somehow gained steam on their "Fix Nothing, Russia Russia Russia, Believe the Woman" so-called Platform, their gains are totally limited.
