Considering that “conservative” generally means someone who tends to follow cultural tradition, and considering that cultural traditions are used to provide a short-hand guide to people that advises them on the best pathway toward their goals, this finding is not surprising.
It takes a lot more thought to arrive at the wrong answer than to follow tradition.

I read as meaning liberals have to go through mental gymnastics to arrive at decisions like allowing grown men to share restrooms with little girls.

"Oh, Oh! I'm a liberal. I keep a stable of pet psychotics, completely at odds, and have convinced them they are the 'new normal'. They are out protesting the injustice of society right now!"

Any way you can come up with something that says how conservative is a cultural tradition. Conservative today means libertarian. Up until the 80's when the Koch Bro's starting putting a gazzilion dollars into promoting it libertarianism was a far out fringe ideology.
