Since ONLY the "RICH" get a tax break according to the narrative of the Dems with the new tax plan, data shows that there are 143 MILLION in the 1% income ranges in the country.

Who knew Trump could push half the country into this type of wealth????

Here are the winners and losers of the new tax law.

The Republican tax law just signed by President Trump benefits most American taxpayers, at least until key provisions sunset. Those gains, however, still fall mostly to the wealthy.

That’s the conclusion of a look at the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by the Tax Policy Center.

The good news is that there aren’t many who will pay higher taxes next year — about 8.5 million, compared to the some 143 million who will get lower taxes.

Would it be better if those gains went to the 47% who pay ZERO in federal tax NOW?

Should we send them a check for $10K for NOT being a tax payer?

Or we could just NOT borrow $1.5T/year at all and let the rich keep paying the same as now. That seems like an OK plan to me.

we've been over this time and time again. That's $1.5T over TEN years, not ONE year.

We have, but yet you continue to make the same mistake. It's a deficit, so it's paid EVERY YEAR.

Sniper says
Also, if running up the debt and deficit is such a concern NOW, where you've been the last 8 years, when Obama spent money like a drunken sailor?

You mean the years when the deficit shrunk by 2/3?

Sniper says
NOPE, since you're a Bernie voter, if the rich don't give half of their income to others, they're just plain evil. Right?

No--I try not to put emotion into the conversation. That's typically conservatives.

Not MY mistake, want to try again?

Nov 30, 2017 - The Joint Committee on Taxation said Wednesday afternoon that the Senate tax bill would add $1 trillion to federal budget deficits over the next decade,

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/30/us/politics/tax-overhaul-senate-debate.html

Joey/tatty, what's your definition of "over the next decade"?

Yep-still your mistake. It's adds (roughly) $1T each year over the next decade.

I'd like to see your team putting facts and proof and links, into the conversation. Not hyperbole. All we get is emotion.

There's no need. Your links agree with me. The only person who disagrees is you because you don't know the difference between debt and deficit.

Deficit spending is still waaaaay too high. Some big cuts to military waste, shuttering of bases, and cancelling of spendy arms projects would be a start. Getting the disability fraud under control would also help, as would ceasing subsidies for corn which we already grow too much of. Stopping the ethanol project would also help. Then cutting regulations that cost money, taxing certain imported products (tariffs!), and cutting spending even more!

The economy boom should take care of the rest of the needed revenue.

However I think this is coming, as the tax bill that was just completed is not a budget. The next budget will be hotly contested, with Republicans calling Democrats to task on their assertion that the defecit is too high, and demanding spending cuts.

I think you'll find it's not the Dems that are blocking reductions in military spending. Nor will it be Dems that are against cutting corn subsidies. And you'll find Dems have more appetite for tariffs than do Republicans as well.

Well, that was my personal wish list for cuts, and I concede you’re likely correct about the GOP having no desire for those cuts. I was also not in favor of estate tax cuts, pass through business cuts, or AMT tax repeals... or a bunch of the reinvestment stuff. But i don’t consider myself a good Republican. Maybe someday the party will be something I support in general but not now.

Just a guess on my part as Republicans backed free trade by a 90%+ rate while Dems were under 50% in favor.

Clintons- NAFTA.
Obama/Clinton- TPP-they called it the gold standard of trade deals.

Trump-Killed TPP as soon as he took office.
Trump-renegotiating NAFTA.

Obama-whining about his legacy-not the country-enjoy .
13   anonymous   2017 Dec 26, 2:25pm

Yup Trump is renegotiating NAFTA to include the core tenets of the TPP. Bernie was the candidate who campaigned strongly against the TPP. Looks like all the Republicans voters were taken for a ride AGAIN

Best year I ever had. All thanks to Trump.

Got a 4 figure tax cut, Jerusalem got recognized, Three Networks with eggs on faces from "Leaks are Real. News is Fake." well-played Barium Meals, Inspector General revealed countless emails from McCabe, Stronkzy (whomever), and that Bucktoothed Adultress bashing Trump going back to before he was elected, showing their innate bias and insuitibility for Mueller's Investigation which is now tainted by it.

And the World's Most Useless Organization is going to get a big budget cut.

Islamists, Nazis, Communists, and Neoliberal Dangerous Extremists in full impotent rage mode.

December was Great.

Thank you, Donald Trump. #NotTiredOfWinning

90%+ of Republicans in favor of NAFTA
<50% of Democrats in favor of NAFTA

So far Trump has done nothing w.r.t. trade. He's "negotiating" NAFTA? Wake me up when something changes. And TPP was dead before Trump took office.

It's a bit impolite, but it's not much of an attack.

Mostly I'm trying to cut down on the "You asshole..." kind of remarks.

Maybe errc just wants some company over in Comment Jail. It seems to be dominated by him and HappyGilmore/Tatty/JoJoey. I wonder if there's an award for the most posts put in jail? Who would win?

You would definitely win.

@Patrick banned you once. You returned as an alias, it doesn’t get any more uncivil than that

Then, @Patrick banned you from using the word ‘you’, because he grew tired of you trolling his forum 24/7 and harassing people.

Why do you continue to disrespect Patrick and his website?
