global warming

The Alarmists have it all covered:

Sure, Al. Douse a few more fifths and give us some more apocalyptic soothsaying, we're all ears.
6   anonymous   2018 Jan 5, 7:12pm

Predictable I guess. Here we are in 2017, and there are still people that will say, "lookie, a cold snap. And you thought the winters were warmer than they used to be 100% of the time."

"Global warming my ass"

It's called weather. And yes, thank goodness there are some record cold times, to at least slightly offset all the record hot times we keep having. You know, like a few weeks ago.

IF you guys were good right wingers, you would go all in like Beckie.

Cold snaps are “weather.” Hurricanes and drought are “climate change.”
Get your story straight!
LOL

Also, according to the global warming crowd, solar minimums either don’t exist (nevermind that NASA data) or are just “weather”... somehow.

No, nobody says they don't exist or that they can't effect tempertures (perhaps slighly).

But objective people that have explored the subject and spent at least 5 minutes reading about it know that the 11 year cycles are much much much more significant than more subtle long term changes. And the last solar minimum in 2008 or didn't put much of a dent in the global average temp trends.

Compare that to this, and then apply a little common sense.

the consensus was they certainly exist but the radiation difference is so small that it has no effect on temperature trends.

That's certainly not the consensus. If that were true we would not have ice ages and mini ice ages. This "consensus" only started creeping up in connection with man-made global warming to belittle the effects of a maunder minimum and save the global-warming panic. Since man-made global warming is a fairly new trend of course nobody can say for sure how they weigh against each other but we will certainly find out if this is indeed the start of a maunder minimum and my bet is all-in on the maunder minimum vastly overpowering any man-made global warming effects to insignificance.

A sunspot cycle is on average 11 years. How do you blame ice ages and mini ice ages on this?

The number of sunspots vary regardless of the 11 year cycle, so minimums are much fewer than every 11 years. If you consider normal cycle activity then the 11 year cycle does not carry that much weight, If you however enter a period where a minimum will be reached, then you better dress very warm and man-made global warming most certainly will not save you from the cold.

Yep, common sense would tell us that a 1 degree C rise in 137 years will "wet bulb" us to death...

Oh wait, we're still here.... darn...

Marcus, ONE degree C over 137 YEARS, just how gullible are the "Alarmists"??????

Oh, common sense... Oops...

Also one degree in 40 years, with an increasing slope, and a lot of uncertainty about what happens as the oceans continue to warm and methane under antarctic ice is released and so on. IT's about uncertainty and risk regarding where this goes, and the belief that being circumspect about this topic obviously means all earth inhabitants should make getting off fossil fuels sooner rather than later a priority.

Yes, humanity in the long term thriving without avoidable disruption is more important than short term corporate interests of a few corporations.

Yes. Common sense.

Brrrr, it is going to be -100F with wind chill in Mt Washington, new Hampshire- brr-the coldest I have bene out is -40F wind chill and that was for a few seconds -just to feel what it was like. I can't imagine-100F .

here I thought us frozen tundra folks would see sub tropical weather due to global warming :)

I did a report on solar minimums when I was in school a long time ago and the consensus was they certainly exist but the radiation difference is so small that it has no effect on temperature trends.

Then why is there global warming on Mars?

My God Liberals are so fucking Stupid. Didn't the last fancy word they made up for this they called "Polar Vortex"?
Hey Al Gore you ignorant dimfuck! Remember the blizzard of '76 it killed 12K people in 8 States. Then the Summer heat wave that followed killed another 15K.
It's why Air Conditioner and Heat is now required by law in rental housing.
