The man accused of killing Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and another man is a Guatemalan immigrant who was in the country illegally and using an alias, according to police.

Manuel Orrego-Savala told police his name was Alex Cabrera Gonsales when he was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly ramming a black Ford F-150 pickup truck onto the emergency shoulder of an Indianapolis highway, killing Jackson and Jeffrey Monroe, a 54-year-old from Avon.

The 37-year-old, who was born in Guatemala, was driving without a driver's license and attempted to flee the scene of the accident on foot, according to Marion County Police.

Orrego-Savala had a blood-alcohol level of at least .15, which is nearly twice the legal limit, police said. He had previously been deported from the United States on two occasions, in 2007 and again in 2009.

Fucking pussy. If you're going to kill someone, at least hit .30. What is this amateur hour?

Sarcasm off, sucks for this guy and his family. Illegal or legal, take a cab. Get a DD. Uber. Hotel. Whatever else besides being a dumb ass.

@Patrick

Can you also provide the list of drunk drivers who killed people in Indiana who were not Illegal Immigrants ?

The list is long and vast, male and female, from the late teens and beyond...covers all races too.

Rich and poor, politically connected and not, policeman, fireman, politicians, religious leaders, blue collar, white collar - you name it.

Funny thing is a lot of these people are 3, 4 or 5 and more times offenders but let's not focus on that minor detail.

Can’t deport or prevent citizens from entering the country. But you can come damn close to 100% preventing foreign nationals from entering the country.

In theory there should be almost no crimes committed by illegal aliens..primarily because there shouldn’t be illegal aliens.

There was a reason that President Obama, Hildebeast, and Senator Sanders ALL openly advocated stricter border controls within the past 15 years.
6   Al_Sharpton_for_President   2018 Feb 6, 3:38am

Washington state is screwing it's citizens over by refusing to adhere to the fed's proof of citizenship requirement for getting a driver's license so folks like this can drive. Yes, I suppose he could have been driving without a license, but he might have been apprehended for that and deported.

The real "issue" is driving drunk and or well on the way of driving drunk. Indiana has a larger problem with texting and talking on smart phones while driving which under Indiana law is perfectly legal.

Making it illegal isn't stopping people from doing it.

One is too much. He should not have been here. Build the wall, end chain migration, end visa lottery.

Autonomous vehicles will ultimately solve this problem.
Trump’s wall will help solve the related problem.

I see people in the phone all the time while driving. Yes, it's illegal in Maryland. Who the fuck doesn't have hands free? I have it in my 1995 car.

Correct - one DUI and done but that's not how the system works. The more connected someone is, the system works even better.

He shouldn't have been in the country in the first place.

Build the wall, end chain migration and visa lottery. Also cutting down on work permits from Mexico would be great as well.
14   Goran_K   2018 Feb 6, 8:48am

This is the hypocrisy that I believe has defined the entire left.

Illegal Alien kills someone - "Guys it's not illegal aliens, it's drunk driving! Let's not demonize a group of people and focus on the crime!"

Psychopath goes on mass shooting - "Guys, we need to ban all guns. Law abiding owner or not, we really do need a blanket ban. No one needs these type of guns."

At least by me, it's not even how connected you are necessarily. There's an attorney in these parts that is notorious for getting people out of their DUI's. He's expensive, but if you want it gone and make a $100k a year as a family, he's technically pretty cheap considering the consequences and fees associated with a conviction. This isn't some guy that advertises on TV or all that BS. He's just got a rep for getting people out of something they could have totally avoided in the first place.

Since graduating high school, I've easily forked out $4k plus on hotels because I knew drinking and driving was not an option. Either planned events or because I knew I couldn't drive. I live pretty far away from where my wife and I generally go out. That's how I got my unicorn IL taxes. Have got to stay in some cool hotels in the Chicagoland area and I don't have a DUI. I mean you can still even go cheap. $60-$80 a night is still doable around here at a shitty place. I'll pay the $60, keep my license and $2-3k from one DUI.

There's that and the fact I have no interest in killing someone.

Would be faster if illegals didn’t cut in front of the line constantly.

Have any idea how the long the wait is to get a family member to this country? I've got Filipino friends who have waited well in excess of 20 years and nada by trying to abide by the law.

Anything to back that claim up ?

If we didn't have millions of illegals sneaking in and living in our country, we could redirect thousands of ICE employees (let alone prison guards) to vetting and processing legal immigrants.

If we didn’t have Failed Loser Christian Republicans dictating ineffective policy like the War on Drugs, LEO could stop wasting thrir time destroying social bonds with community and instead, going after societies most flagrant and harmful, most costly criminals: drunks and especially those who take their bad habits behind the wheel and put all the rest of us in grave danger.

I think the legal limit needs to be dropped to .04, and the punishment for conviction should be death, where they go after the family financially and raze all their property and seize all their assets.

It’s beyond pathetic that the only way you get the lemmings to chime in is if you get them going on about illegal immigrants and that silly wall that they think will actually mitigate any border crossings of people or contraband
19   Shaman   2018 Feb 6, 9:33am

In my experience, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Someone who shows up and bothers you every day is going to have his or her needs or desires addressed before someone who inquires remotely.

Case in point: my son needed to see his doctor today, no appointment. We showed up right when the practice opened and got seen almost instantly.

Illegal immigrants are showing up, making themselves a problem that’s tricky and expensive to solve within the framework of the law, and so they get their case addressed first. Unless you take steps to prevent this kind of thing, or prevent the problem from getting so large, you’ll always have to capitulate to law breakers with the cajones to defy the law and the impudence to make claims on the country. That’s why we need the wall. Sure people would still come via airports and overstay their visas, but the massive numbers still come through our southern border and make the situation unmanageable.

Stop all planes and boats too. What we really need is a dome. And we should cut down the statue of liberty too, while we are at it. Because some here think the message has changed.

Well guess what i think. If someone here thinks imigration should be stopped then take a fucking DNA test and go back to the fucking country it says you are from.
Nobody thinks that all immigration should be stopped. Many people think that illegal immigration should be stopped. Many people think that chain immigration should be stopped. You omitting an operative word from the argument is exactly the type of intellectual dishonesty that the left have embraced and that elected Trump.

Who gives a shit? We've got enough low skilled, low education people in the country already.

I know people who have advanced degrees that have gotten their H1B Visa in weeks, and then gotten their green card a few years later.

Immigration should be MERIT based.

If you're some dumb low IQ monkey with 10 anchor babies, no income, no degrees, why would you get to hop step over someone who actually benefits the country?

Have you seen the immigration laws in Nordic European Countries that Democrats constantly praise and adore for their socialist healthcare and education? There's a reason why they can AFFORD to do such a thing, they aren't letting illegal aliens stream over the border, waving the Mexican Flag, speaking pretty much only Spanish until they're 20, and never graduating high school. You have to legitimately be a benefit to the country to get into a place like Finland.

We have enough dish washers and floor sweepers.
23   anonymous   2018 Feb 6, 9:39am

You guys are demonstrating the problem with this country. Left says only A is the problem. Right says it's only B. Why not both? How about drunk driving (and texting) laws should be much stricter AND we actually enforce our immigration laws. In theory, if solving A would stop 10 crimes and solving B would stop 8 crimes, why not solve A + B and stop 18 crimes instead of the BS politics of arguing about both but ultimately doing neither and stopping 0 crimes.

Agreed.

But politics these days is chained to the prisoner's dilemma. We always get the worst of any scenario due to tribalism.

Prisons and law enforcement are expensive, so let's stop all police patrols, half the criminal courts, and most of the prisons.

Save big money! Win! Win! Win!

Employers want to crush wages, hence porous borders.

So why aren’t we going after those who employed illegals?

And why weaponize police, prisons and courts against people utilizing medical flowers? Does Liberty have no value?

Medical Flowers? Sounds like you are describing Poppy plants, with all the opium derivatives like Heroin.

I know you likely meant pot, using "medical flowers" as a phrase to imply pot is as innocuous as the "medicated" part of dandruff shampoo.

Unless someone can show reliable statistics that illegal immigrants drive drunk more often or in a more deadly way than other subgroups of the population, I think using tragic drunk-driving as an argument for deporting people is just a propaganda trick.

How about we start deporting some criminals from Wall Street or the Pentagon/DoD or the US State Department instead? They seem to cause much more death and destruction than any illegal immigrant that I have heard of. Perhaps deport them to Guantanmo Bay?

They won't though because they see anchor babies as votes.

It's already begun. This is why Trump was elected.

https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2018-01-22/is-ice-finally-targeting-employers-of-illegal-workers

The Trump administration appeared to take a step toward that goal this month, launching a widely publicized series of raids at close to 100 7-Eleven locations in towns and cities across the country.

The action was not the first large-scale workplace crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents under Trump – they previously raided eight Asian restaurants in Mississippi last February, for example, apprehending 55 people suspected of being in the country illegally. But it hit far more locations and was among the most widely publicized.

Republicans are for E-Verify. If we could only get the Democrats on board, we could get this thing sorted out.

FFS - we have crazy Democrats in California making it a fucking crime for employers to cooperate with ICE.

But - yeah, somehow you think it is Republicans being hypocritical on this?

Again, deaths(and crimes) committed by illegal aliens should be near zero. The fact that 10% of the US prison population is illegal aliens tells you the entire story. It should be near zero, save for the ones in process of being deported. Comparisons are not necessary nor relevant as ANY number is unacceptable.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigrant_population_of_the_United_States About 11-12 million.
But, I am not clear of the relevance. Comparing drunk driving and crime statistics between illegals and citizens is not really the point. The point is that the crimes committed by illegals would not happen if they were deported or prevented from gaining access to the US. You can try to say the population (illegal/legal) as a whole is no different regarding crime rates (don't know - I see mixed info on various sites), but that doesn't mean that these are not additional crimes that should not be happening.
Either we say illegal immigration is fine and we just accept that there is additional crime, perhaps at a rate no more than the same rate as citizens, or we prevent these additional crimes by enforcing deportation and having stronger border security.

What about the alcohol related crimes committed by the ‘legals’? Are they somehow less bad?

pffttt 2-3 American deaths a year not even worth the time mentioning compared to the cheap labor they provide.

100 middle class whites die a day overdosing on opioids alone. when will people get angry over that?

ah that's right big pharma stocks are in their 401K's. saying anything would hurt the portfolios would it.
