Actually, it's a problem when they die too young. If they get sick before 65, it's a potentially tragic loss of money for the company. If they die between 65 and 70, well that's just a little sad, but they made a good living and the choice was theirs. The beauty of a slow poisoning of the working class is less strain on SS and more money for the bright and shiny folks.

Coal miners should be required to sign something that says that this job will make you die early. How early is the roll of the dice, but it will be early. Also, this is a shit ass job, so you ought to be compensated well. If ever there was a job that called out for automation, this is one of them.
