When it comes to the illegal sale of fentanyl, most of the attention has focused on Mexican cartels that are adding the drug to heroin smuggled into the United States. But Chinese suppliers are providing both raw fentanyl and the machinery necessary for the assembly-line production of the drug powering a terrifying and rapid rise of fatal overdoses across the United States and Canada, according to drug investigators and court documents.

“We have seen an influx of fentanyl directly from China,” said Carole Rendon, the acting US attorney for the northern district of Ohio in Cleveland. “It’s being shipped by carrier. It’s hugely concerning because fentanyl is so incredibly deadly.”

America is not Britain, but maybe the Chinese learned something from them that they are using on the US.

We should start sinking ships we find illegal drugs on.
And all ships from Asia port of call are subject to a thorough search with dogs and xray.

It's all China's fault!

Actually, there are plenty of generic factories built all over by Big Pharma to provide the pipelines.

"On the left, a lethal dose of heroin; on the right, a lethal dose of fentanyl."

Chinese also got all the oak Ridge thorium msw reactor stuff that is now public domain. Like the maglev, we'll have another tech everybody implements before we do even though we did the work and paid for the r&d.

Not a damn thing will happen to China as Trump does business there. If you think he will start implementing mass tariffs (other than a couple to fool the naive idiots) to bring back jobs LOL I have a bridge to sell you.

His grandkid speaks and sings in Chinese. Trump family (crime syndicate) is 100% committed to selling out America to the highest bidders.

Jobs will continue to go overseas and not come back. Illegals will continue to roam the streets. Companies will make even more profit and main street will get hit with inflation that your puny and overly celebrated tax cut will only look pale in comparison.

Lol, that already happened years ago, when all our manufacturing was outsourced to China to provide bonuses for US executives. Completely gutted our industrial base.

Brits exported Opium to Manchu-occupied China in order to balance trade. The world (excepting Britain itself domestically) was largely on silver specie standard for currency in the first half of 19th century. The Opium War was the best thing ever happened to Chinese people in the 19th century: by opening up that country to direct trade, it reduced Manchu monopoly on Chinese market and Chinese labor; in the following decades, Chinese labor and merchants alike flooded to treaty ports opened up by the war, to be under British (and American, etc.) semi-colonial administration with local representation and basic rules of law, instead of staying under full-colonial rule under Manchus (no local representation and no due process of law and no individual rights). It's just like the arrival of Brits made India and Africa better for Indians and Africans than the places ever had been (and ever since the departure of British rule). As for Chinese export of narcotics in return, that happened in the 1870's, after the Manchu government there was forced into legalizing opium production after the Second Opium War in the 1860's. By the end of 19th century, China had become the largest exporter of opium, half a century after the first Opium War.

As for Fentynal, the cross-border trade value is tiny compared to all the other goods that cross borders. IMHO, if it closes the case on the hard-core drug addicts in a few hours instead of decades of government welfare, it's not a bad thing for the rest of the society or for the individuals themseves! A lot of terminally ill people and over-aged prostitutes/SJW's with nothing to look forward to after wasting their younger years should be encouraged to take the easy way out.
