I don't think it would hurt any of those thing though. It would help GDP and infrastructure most likely. War on drugs money could go towards infrastructure, we've already got it budgeted.

As much as I believe my local drug dealer is paying federal taxes on his pot sales, it probably isn't happening. It's not going to balance the budget, but any corp paying taxes on weed sales is a good thing for everyone instead of the dealers and cartels paying nothing. And causing crime.

I don't get the Mars thing. We should be shooting higher. The SpaceX heavy Falcon, sparrow, cardinal or whatever thing was cool and all, but why are we stuck on exploding fuels to get us through space? Mars is a shit hole and we all know it. Should be shooting for far away places that we can inhabit a lot easier than Mars. Or figure out a way to pull Mars closer to our orbit from the sun, with massive exploding fuels.

I'd rather die then live on that shit hole Mars FYI. Bernie has some interesting ideas that I don't always agree with, I can get on board with the Feds legalizing weed though. I also think Trump could too if he's looking to get elected again. It doesn't hurt the economy, probably helps it, and will likely reduce crime.

Yup. Ending Prohibition will definitely help get people off welfare as it creates tons of jobs and large boom to local economies. As a bonus, it drastically reduces government spending, even though Trump and Republicans couldn’t care less about reducing the debt.

Bernie ran on repairing our broken infrastructure, and of course the end of Prohibition will increase GDP. Not sure if it can offset all the Republicans Swamp Monsters wasteful spending that they use to destroy Liberty and Freedom

I was being facetious as to the degree of upside, though I do support marijuana legalization.

The best tax reform would be Georgism, the Single Tax (though I would add a Tobin and Intangibles Tax) on Land (not Property) Value.

You forgot that legalized weed is going to cure cancer and Alzheimer's as well as reverse aging.
11   Shaman   2018 Feb 13, 11:11am

Also legalized weed will eliminate racism, misogyny, and transphobia whilst catapulting homeless veterans from the gutters to the boardrooms.
Oh and it will make Muslims realize that they shouldn’t blow people up all the time.

America is built on Laws. Killer Weed is illegal. If one uses any illegal drug they are a criminal.
If one drives on or uses anything that is transported over roads that they didn't individually build with their tax dollars, they are SOCIALISTS.

I love the give & take between the left & right when all that needs to be said is;
Fuck Democrats & Republicans! Republicans wanted to take charge, they are there
they get the abuse from the truth.

Independents RULE! They can attack stupids & the retards have NOTHING as a comeback.
If I could get some free govt. handouts,I would buy a new glass pot pipe & different rolling papers.
The socialist are repaving the main drag going to the reefer store, nice ride.
What I do doesn't change what you are. Enjoy your bubble hypocrisy.

I need to find a site where there are intelligent people, there's no challenge here. lmao

"At a loss"...

A recent Gallup poll found that one in eight adults in the United States said they smoke marijuana.
The survey, summarized by Gallup’s Justin McCarthy, found that 13% of adults in the U.S. report currently using marijuana, compared with 7% reported in 2013.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/8242/study-how-many-americans-are-smoking-pot-number-pardes-seleh
PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' drinking habits held steady in the past year, with 66% saying they consume alcohol and drinkers consuming just over four alcoholic drinks per week, on average.
http://news.gallup.com/poll/156770/majority-drink-alcohol-averaging-four-drinks-week.aspx
Question, which number is bigger, 13% or 66%?

Those pesky facts again.

" The U.S. beverage alcohol industry is a major contributor to the economy, responsible for over $475 billion in total U.S. economic activity in 2014, generating $110 billion in wages and nearly 4.6 million jobs for U.S. workers."

So, yes it did happen with alcohol.

You can't even measure weed consumption as a comparison to alcohol. One is legal and the other is not. There's also the fact I couldn't find the survey questions within the link to Gallup. If they're asking "do you smoke marijuana" then yes, it's probably something along the lines of the results they got. There are other ways to consume outside of smoking. Also, it's only a survey, but again, weed is illegal, so most smart people wouldn't incriminate themselves over the fucking phone.

Until weed is legal or alcohol becomes illegal again, it's a apples to oranges comparison. Weed becomes legal federally and that 13% number looks a lot closer to the alcohol numbers. Let's put it this way, I know as many people that abstain from alcohol as I know abstain from weed. Most people are doing one or both in some capacity whether you do or don't.

Was alcohol prohibition in effect in 2014?
