Homeschool your kids. Don't leave them at the mercy of an impersonal institution run by professional morons.

If an average person starts "homeschooling" their kids, it will be effective death of the republic in fairly short order.
2   Patrick   2018 Feb 14, 2:33pm

• A shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., 50 miles north of Miami. It has an enrollment of approximately 3,000.

• The shooter, who was not a current student at the school, was taken into custody, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Department.

• At least 14 people were injured and transported to local hospitals, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel told reporters, and there were "multiple fatalities."

Better they learn from amateur morons in the home who were too cheap to arm them so they could stand their ground.

Your school lesson for today kids, crazy deranged young men who post radical shit on social media don't kill people.

Guns kill people.

There will be a test tomorrow, please study!

Why would people be angry in florida? Seems like life is easy on A1A corridor from Ft Lauderdale to Miami Beach. It even has better beaches than hawaii! Someone must be seriously ill to do something like that over there. He was probably radicalized by the puppets who had vested interests to convince him that his life sucks and that he should blame somebody for it - what an idiot!

Homeschooled students score about 72 points higher than the national average on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The average American College Test (ACT) score is 21. The average score for homeschoolers is 22.8 out of a possible 36 points. Homeschoolers are at the 77th percentile on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
https://wehavekids.com/education/Do-Homeschoolers-Really-Do-Better-on-Tests
Many states don't give the ACT and SAT to all (or even most) students, either, so the differential is probably worse for Public School Students.

Enthusiasm and a Strong Vested Interest trumps 30 credits in Diversity Training backed by a huge bureaucracy.

Have you seen the training for Education Majors? Who, by the way, have the 2nd lowest SAT scores just above Art History.

Exactly..

The blame lies right on the Liberal education system.

Just like when Republican congressmen are injured or almost killed?

Gun free zones are useless and dangerous. An armed guard would have ended the confrontation at the point of entry.

Clearly the problem is one or both of the following:
1. Too much weapons in the US.
2. Americans are one of the most murderous peoples on earth.

Whichever it is, it justifies keeping guns away from the Americans. However, that will not happen; too many idiots, too much corruption, a dysfunctional political system.

Homeschooling is a lot of work. Not everybody can or has the time to do it. I doubt that anybody can do it well for all subjects. A public school system can be good. There are plenty of examples from around the world. But it will not happen in the US; too many idiots, too much corruption, a dysfunctional political system.

Wow, I've never seen so many fudges and weasel words in one single article before. Nice job. Most notable is the lack of mention of the number of states that don't track home schooling or require any kind of assessments and how that would affect any comparisons. Especially since those states are mostly the poorer educated red states.

Many states don't give to ACT/SATall students you say? Are you saying all home schoolers get ACT/SAT? I don't think so. Actually I know so.

My nephew is home schooled by my paranoid conspiracy freak nut job sister in a state that doesn't check on home schoolers. Epic fail. The kid knows nothing. These were the same idiots that kept a loaded pistol on top of the fridge "for home protection" with kids playing in the house for years. What could go wrong?
24   anonymous   2018 Feb 15, 6:41am

14 in a month and a half ... sorry ... 18 school shootings (of all types) for 2018.

That's a funny way of writing "disgruntled boys who abuse girls, shouldn't be able to purchase firearms".

An armed guard would have been the first victim. See Vegas.

Not a gun problem. Not an AR-15 problem. This is a masculinity and gun culture problem. If only there was an institution left in America teaching responsible gun ownership. Shame.

Our total school shootings is what, 14 in a month and a half for 2018? Disgraceful. Our nation is filled with some very poorly raised young males. shrug ... probably cannot do anything about it though.

It’s insane. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton probably jaywalked somewhere and nobody did anything! America is doomed

29   anonymous   2018 Feb 15, 7:51am

Clearly we need more guns! Imagine the teachers and students were heavily armed! No chance for the mass murder to fight against an army of students! Therefore, we need to start selling more guns to protect our citizens! A gun shop offering heavy discounts next to the snack bar would be the solution!

Right. No one knows what percentage of home schooled take the ACT/SAT compared to public schools. So the test results for home schooled compared to public schools is meaningless. I believe that was the point.

There is a reason that Russia dumped a bunch of money into the NRA a couple of years ago. There's a reason that Trump took a hard gun rights stance (to get that money). Now, we watch to see what happens.

Yes, everyone knows, it's the gun doing all the killings, not the mentally dysfunctional person holding the gun.

We need police (with guns) to confiscate the 300+ million firearms from all the citizens in the country, even if they've never broken any laws.

It's for the children.

It's because guns were just invented this year, if they weren't made available in 2018, these shootings would never of happened.

Oops... Oh wait, guns have been around for centuries...

Care to try and figure out what's going on in the schools TODAY causing these increased shootings, and why this wasn't happening 10 years ago, even though the same access to firearms was available?

Homeschool has always been a tone deaf a rallying cry for white nationalists who like to arrange marriages (and occasionally fuck their children) and teach them to hate non-natives. It's a dog whistle most intelligent people have figured out.

Hahaha, so predictable a response. And a personal attack, which I'll let stand because it's so illogical; maybe you'd wish to delete it yourself.

As for why it make sense to flock here, in light of what I wrote earlier:

1. Americans are even more murderous abroad.

2. Living in a place full of idiots gives me huuuge competitive advantage.
