She informed me, that the Florida Insurance commissioner's office is to foster business ties with the Insurance industry and her office does not serve as a consumer advocate in any capacity. Then she game me a website where I could plug in my information, and have the Monopoly insurance company "Citizens" compete for my business. I swear you can't make this stuff up.
Though she didn't actually call Citizens the Monopoly that it is. I just threw that in there so you can understand the absurdity of that phone call, as they are a Monopoly and she did tell me to go to that website so insurance companies can compete for my business.

Dude, you can't have it both ways. Either you need to keep on the conservative page that corporations are free to fuck you over in the name of capitalism and free markets or you can have the government regulate and control then. You can't pick and choose depending on if it affects you or not.

Our vets that were in Vietnam who got diabetes from agent orange that we were dropping over there, the government pays $500 for a small bottle of insulin for the vets with diabetes. The insulin probably cost $50 in Canada but our government won't do anything to bring the price paid down.
