Imagine that!

2 Students, Gunman Injured in Shooting at St. Mary's Co. High School.

A student pulled a gun out and shot two other students at a high school in southeast Maryland Tuesday morning before he was wounded himself, the St. Mary’s County sheriff said.

The gunman entered Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland, at the beginning of the school day and opened fire in the hallway, Sheriff Tim Cameron said. A teenage girl and boy were injured in the shooting.

The shooter exchanged fire with a school resource officer on campus and was wounded, Cameron said. All three students are in critical condition, but the officer wasn’t injured. It wasn’t yet clear who shot the gunman.

Darn, a deranged gunman wasn't able to kill dozens because a armed officer in the school stopped him.

But the Liberals say we don't need armed officers in the schools. The deranged individuals should have multiple minutes to do their carnage before cops arrive (and hide outside).

Could the Liberals be wrong?

It just must be the NRA's fault (and the AR-15).

Oh wait, this kid used a handgun....

Oops....

Ahhhhh thought they said we don't need armed teachers.

They also said "we need common sense gun laws", gun show background checks (which already are done) and to ban AR15's and these school shootings would stop.

Looks like that was also a FAIL!!!

Was this student targeting specific individuals?

Do we know if the student was injured due opossing gunfire or some other way?

Liberals started playing politics with schools, agitating all the crazies that are included into classrooms for diversity reasons only. Good thing at least there was a cop on duty there.

So far, just the shooter was killed.

Certainly a better outcome than 17 dead students.

So by defending ourselves from bad people we can save lives!?
10   Shaman   2018 Mar 20, 11:37am

What is absolutely clear is that the most tempting targets for deranged individuals are “soft” targets without defenders.

But I’m sure some Lefty will argue about the shooter’s civil rights or something. Like anyone sane would prefer the shooter’s life over all the other kids at that school.

How is that absolutely clear? Wasn’t this just a kid angry at his girlfriend?

Seems like his intentions were honed in on one individual, and rather than handle his biz like a man, he took the beta way out, and got all gun nutter. The beta wet dream

That is incorrect information.

The shooter and a school resource officer each fired a round, but authorities don't know if the officer's bullet killed the suspect, Cameron said. The officer, whom Cameron identified as Blaine Gaskill, was not hurt.
15   MrMagic   2018 Mar 20, 12:34pm

Officials identified the alleged shooter as Great Mills student Austin Wyatt Rollins, 17. They said he fired a Glock 9-millimeter gun at a 16-year-old girl, who was critically injured, and a 14-year-old boy, was listed in good condition Tuesday.

This shooting couldn't have happened in Maryland. First, a 17 year old isn't allowed to purchase a firearm. Plus, Maryland has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Did you actually know, it's illegally to shoot and try to kill people in Maryland. Plus, it's also illegal for a 17 year old to posses a handgun.

I know, we need some NEW "common sense gun laws" in Maryland, this way criminals would obey them, right, and that would eliminate all school shootings?

I wonder if this 17 year old kid was a NRA member?

Do we conflate car accidents where somebody hurts themselves with car homicides where somebody runs over somebody else on purpose?

Yes! Because in both cases, an EVIL CAR was involved! These horrible machines kill tens of thousands of Americans every single year, and yet we still allow practically ANYONE to own one! Taking away licenses to drive isn’t enough! We have to seize all vehicles from the public to make America SAFE again!

Exactly, nobody needs a car that can hold over 5 gallons of gas. Ban all cars with "high capacity" gas tanks.

Specially, ban RED cars, as they have the ability to go fast.

No, that seems to be false:

Well the inability to contain rogue individuals certainly explains the NSA's collective gathering of information via social media.
As abhorrent as that sounds, in the modern day it may be the best source of detection we have.

Feux Follets says
That is just common sense - malls are probably going to be the next big thing after the next few rounds of wannabes get done at the schools.

Then again look around the tarmacs and infrastructure at most major airports - anyone bent on doing something stupid can have a field day and we have done nothing about it except talk, put up some useless fences with gaping security holes and talk some more.

..."Jordan Salter, 18, is one of two students arrested for bringing a knife to school.

According to an arrest form, during an argument with another student, "Jordan reached inside of her bra and pulled out a 2" black handle knife, unfolded the knife and showed it" to the student she was arguing with.

According to Broward County Sheriff's Office, 17-year-old Gavin Stricker, a 10th grader, was also arrested after "a nine inch knife was found in his backpack. Mr. Stricker was placed into custody and transported to JARC."

If we only could pass "common sense knife laws", where bringing a weapon to school is a felony, this would stop.

Oh wait, that law is already on the books... Darn..

Yup. Also the shooter could not legally own a handgun in Maryland. Seems like the law was completely ineffective in stopping the shooting, but a well armed good guy was extremely effective and more than likely saved many lives.

The kid committed a felony (by being in possession of the gun) even before he entered the school and pulled the trigger the first time.

I know, let's add a few more NEW gun laws on top of the 20,000 EXISTING laws. Then, these criminals would stop this lawless behavior, right?

Add on one more felony for the kid.

Handgun used in Maryland high school shooting was legally owned by gunman's father, police say.

The handgun used in a shooting at a Maryland high school was legally owned by the gunman’s father, authorities said Wednesday.

Austin Rollins, 17, brought the Glock 9mm pistol to Great Mills High School on Tuesday and opened fire, wounding a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities didn’t divulge any further information about the weapon, including how Rollins was able to have access to it or where it was purchased, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Maryland law bars a person from leaving a loaded weapon somewhere that could be accessed by someone under the age of 16, the newspaper reported. It is also illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to possess a handgun unless it is required for their job.

Wrong again. Reading comprehension is fundamental. Try this:

From your link:

...."After firing the handgun, Rollins kept walking through the school, where he was confronted by school resource officer Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill just after 8 a.m. Their weapons went off simultaneously 31 seconds later, with Rollins shooting himself in the head and Gaskill shooting Rollins in the hand, officials said."

I'll explain it for the simple minded on the site. In almost everyone of these cases, when the bad guy gets confronted by a cop, they end up shooting themselves, because they are pussies.

The facts STILL are, the Good guy with a gun stopped a Bad guy with a gun.

Here's an easy question, how many additional people did the shooter kill after his encounter with the cop?
