The FACTS about the dangerous AR-15 and Mass Shootings, Here's the REAL Data you Won't Hear from the MSM

Following the February 14th mass shooting at the Stoneman Douglas School in Parkland, Florida, a newly impassioned debate has erupted, as follows every mass shooting in the US, about how to prevent such events from reoccurring.

One side focuses on easy civilian access to military-style guns, such as the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. The other focuses on the individuals who perpetrate these acts, in particular their mental health.



In the most deadly 12 mass shootings in the US in the past decade, a total of 270 people were killed. In 8 of these shootings, an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle was used.

So, in NINE years, 270 people have died in mass shootings, in 66% of those shootings, a AR15 was used. So approximately 180 people have died from a AR15 over 9 years.

Doing the math, approximately 20 a YEAR die from being shot by an AR15.

Now lets compare that to distracted driving by teens:

So, in TWO DAYS, the same number of teens die from texting and driving that die from being shot by a AR15 in a YEAR.

Chew on that for a second.

4015 teens will die this year because of texting and driving.

Can one of the Liberals here please explain why these teenagers aren't marching on every major city demanding saving these teenagers????




A better solution is to ban cell phones and driving until a kid is 21. Wouldn't that save a hell of lot more lives?

Left just hates 2nd amendment, it gets in a way of their liberal big government agenda. Rest is not relevant. If they wanted to save lives, they'd be anti abortion.... but well you know.

So I don't buy their bs about saving lives, they don't care.

I'd say if US military accidentally would kill 2000 and ISIS purposefully 10, then US military would be worse that ISIS.

Do you NEED a Cell Phone, or a Car? Why can't you take the bus? Maybe we need Car Accident Safety, that jams cell phones when the engine is on.

Maybe we need Car Accident Safety, that jams cell phones when the engine is on.

No need to jam. Just require the phones to turn off texting when the GPS or tower tracking shows a speed of over 10mph.

It's not only that, it's also for the poorer folks having to live in more dangerous hoods, their only reasonably priced option for enhanced safety (esp. at home) is a gun.

Any idea which gun CNN was talking about regarding the Texas shooting, so we can ban it. They were so distraught and upset it wasn't a AR15, but a shotgun. I guess in their depressed state, they just combined the two together to make their own version.

But Liberals think that's why we don't need guns for personal protection. The LEOs will be there to do that job, in their world.

Remember, when seconds count, law enforcement is only minutes away and will be there (to write the report on your death or mugging).

The MSM does not care about facts. Semi-auto shotguns do exist but they are no where near as reliable as a pump action. Maybe the MSM is gunning for this?

These Saiga shotguns are still around but they can no longer be imported into the USA and thus command a very high price if you can find one for sale. You used to be able to get them in 12 gauge, 20 gauge, and 410 gauge until they were banned from import by the Obama administration. The imported guns were sold in a "sporting" configuration which means no pistol grip and the fire control group was pushed back and had a Rube-Goldberg mechanism that connected the trigger to the hammer release.

There were domestic firearms parts manufacturers in the USA that made conversion kits that comply with the 922r rules to restore these shotguns to the correct configuration. These kits moved the fire control groups forward to the correct receiver holes, installed a pistol grip, and allowed for the use of an adjustable stock. If you were handy with a hand held drill, you could drill out the rivets and remove all of the garbage added to make it a "sporting" configuration.

The only problem with this gun is that it does not like to run on low brass ammunition without a lot of gun smithing. The gun requires a lot of tuning to the gas system, and lapping work to the bolt to polish it up in order to reduce the internal friction.

The Saiga shotgun is nothing more than a modified AK-47 patterned firearm that shoots shotgun shells.
