Meaghan Hess says her brother Patrick who has Down syndrome was kicked off a flight with his parents after he threw up

Alaska Airlines did not offer them overnight accommodations and were re-booked for a 6am flight

The airline gave Patrick a black plastic garbage bag and sent them on their way

Hess says she believes her brother was the victim of disability discrimination

Should they have just let him go to 30,000 feet and recirculating cabin air so everyone could get whatever he had? The airline is right: visibly sick people are a liability to themselves and the rest of the passengers, and the airline isn’t a hospital.

I’ve flown Alaska air plenty of times and thy do a great job.

They forgot to mention that they loaded him up with CHIPOLTLE before the flight.

Airlines barely clean planes now, with plane turnover scheduled in minutes. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity

Family should be grateful that this was not UNITED. The kid would have been either stuffed in overhead bin for the duration of flight or re-accommodated with permanent damage to his teeth.

Exactly right. This kid was visibly ill, and not from airsickness. The flight didn't leave yet.

The airline has a responsibility to protect ALL passengers. They did the right thing.

She's looking for a big payout, friggen golddigger.

How soon before Gloria Allred comes to her rescue?

Just feed your mongoloid kids rancid clams, steer them to the nearest restaurants and planes, watch the fun, and start raking in the civil liberties and disability big bucks.

I'm glad the airline had the courage to do what's right and stick to their policy in the best interest of their passengers - I sure don't want to fly with extremely sick people.

This is a difficult time to be an airline making hard decisions due to being under the public spotlight, and this is further demonstrated by the family member slinging accusations about "disability discrimination", yet no supporting evidence was provided. Sounds like an angry passenger trying to cash in on the anti-airline sentiment of recent times.
