Yeah, like meeting people at starbucks isn't a normal practice. Sure it's coutesy to uy something - but would it be required if they were white ?

Arguing that those guys shouldn't have been cut some slack, is even more stupid than arguing that George Zimmerman was justified in harrassing and then killing Trayvon Martin. Speaking of George Zimmerman, it's been a couple years since we've heard of any more road rage, or domestic abuse cases involving that guy. I guess he finally figured out that if he didn't get some control of his dysfunctional emotionally challenged self, everyone might put two and two together.

They said they calmly told the officers they were there for a meeting, and Robinson said he even called the person for whom they were waiting. But the officers repeatedly insisted that they leave, they said.

"It's a real estate meeting. We’ve been working on this for months," Robinson said. "We're days away from changing our whole entire situation, our lives, and you about to sit here telling me I can’t do that? You’re not doing that."

In a Just Universe, the business meeting will happen after all, leading to them investing all of their money and much sweat equity into rental units. These would be occupied by sassy, demanding deadbeats who never intended to pay rent and milk the system for 5+ months of rent-free living while trashing their investment.

Yes. Especially in places where bathrooms are under lock and key.

Huh? It is a business. You do not meet up there and use it for office/internet-unless you buy something? They pay for light, electricity, internet they get to choose who gets toe enter. Several businesses have no shirts/no shoes notice or restrooms are fr customers only-is that now enforceable by race only?

No. But if two white guys were waiting for a friend (or business contact), who might have asked that they meet there because he or she does want to get a coffee, you can be sure they wouldn't be booted out, just becasue they are waiting without buying something.

Hell, even FW knows this is right, but wants to turn it into us against them nonsense.

Yeah this is silly. You can't squat in a business. The amount of time awarded to nonpaying patrons is a direct factor of how busy the establishment is and how well you treat the manager.

These guys acted entitled in a busy Starbucks.

The real tragedy is that where these black men should have learned a life lesson in humility, they instead learned to be racially entitled SjW's.

Democrats destroying the future of the black community, one virtue signal at a time. Sigh

Police didn't just bust in. They politely asked them to leave -the two trespassers refused. They got arrested-that sounds right. now the trespassers are hero and this is a civil rights case??

I don't know. I think they probably thought it was because they were black, that the manager said they had to go in the first place (and called the police). And guess what ? They MAY have been right. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

I understand your point of view. In their shoes, I would buy something anyway, if I was meeting people. And if I were asked to leave for not buying something, I might think the manager is an asshole, but I wouldn't think it was because of race. But then I'm not black and don't know what that's like to get looked at differently a lot of the time. So I'm not going to judge those guys to the extent that you are.

@Marcus - yes - I am white and have been asked to buy something to use a restroom or stay in a coffee shop or restaurant. This is not that uncommon. I just comply - particularly in smaller non-corporate home grown establishments. But, yeah, I wouldn't expect them to call the police if I did stay and just sat quietly and made no bother (like asking for a key to use the bathroom - I expect if I ask for that I should buy something. Is that really unreasonable?) .

Then again - have you actually been to the McD and other fast food joints down in the tenderloin of SF? Homeless hang out there all the time - not pretty and not safe. I won't go into those establishments - period (leaned my lesson after a couple of times). Also, if you are just quiet and make no noise (like ask to use a bathroom), probably nothing would have happened. But who knows? It is easy to cry racism in these sorts of situations even if this happens to "everyone" at one time or another.

Granted - it could be "me" - as I am 6'5" and pretty big. Maybe people are more concerned about security and that is why I have been asked, etc... It also depends on who is on staff that day - some people are just asses and want to be difficult to customers and it is not out of some racial motivation. Also, I do think there is some difference between a coffee shop and sit down restaurant and more leniency should be granted to "hanging" out in a coffee shop - as this a social location more so than a restaurant for a meal. Just my opinion.

True. There may have been racism, favoritism, judgment... all things that happen when anyone interacts with others. All of us have been victims of this behavior. TBC, the 911 call from the manager makes her sound as sweet and reasonable as possible. There is zero evidence of any actual racism in this situation.

Regardless...

It. Doesn't. Matter. Adults deal w assholes and walk away. Adults accept responsibility for their own situation regardless of how difficult the circumstances. They needed to learn humility and instead they learned entitlement, and their lives will suffer because of that negative character development. This attitude of blame whitey cause racism is the mental slavery the democrats push on blacks. It's shameful and destructive to the exact people it pretends to help

Two days a week, I tutor 5 students in a day. I usually have to go take a piss every 2 hours. Starbucks is right there. I'm usually there prepping my materials prior to. But even when I come back the 2nd or 3rd time, I purchase something. Sometimes, it's just a $5 gift card that I save for later when I really do want to purchase something. These guys were just moochers who got called out on it.

As far as tables at starbucks goes...nothing is more annoying than stopping there and having every table full so I can't work. It sucks but they are all paying customers, so there's nothing you can do about it. That being said, if I need to get shit done and two nonpaying guys come in and take a table, that's just fucked up. Buy the $2 tall coffee on their menu and be done with it.

I'm familiar with that area of Philly. It's the nicest area. I was at Barnes and Noble and was required to show a receipt to use the bathroom. I'm prettty sure it had nothing to do with race. You can't go anywhere in Philly without being surrounded by black people. In New York, the bathroom situation is even worse. There is a security guard that guards the bathroom at McDonald's and he won't let you in it without a time stamped receipt. My cup of soda wasn't good enough for him because I could have swiped it from the garbage....which means, at one point, some bum pulled that move on him.

You would think by the third time the police told them to leave, they would have done so.

Oh btw, please post the proof that this was because of their race(that someone of another race would have bee treated differently).

I suspect cobwebs will grow on the ceiling before I get anything resembling proof.

Curently stage 2 of Operation Starcucks is inviting all homeless in to use the toilets and sit in comfy surrounds using free wfi without having to buy anything. I was watching the thread last night and an autist was pumping out memos to past on doors and pamphlets to hand out to homeless.

There was talk of crashing the stock price and buying it back and then having major control of Starbucks. Not sre how far it will go, but I will never doubt the shit /pol can actually do.

Black people are every bit as smart and capable as any other race. And yet the MSM continues to do them a disservice by not treating them as equals.

I still don’t know why the CEO apologized for enforcing a company policy.

The guys being yelled at to buy something should have perked up at the suggestion and mention, "By the way, I did forget to FEED! THE! MONSTER!"

Then they could have bought a cupcake, made Godzilla noises pulled their pants waistband out and dropped the confection into their trousers and spent the rest of the night erupting in Godzilla eating noises and lurching around the store shouting, "THE MONSTER! THE MONSTER IS OUT OF CONTROL!"
