Patrick - Why is my post on TPB deleted

So I am trying to keep tabs on TPB's conspiracy theories and false narratives. Why delete my post. We are all accountable to our posts or else this forum is nothing but a right-wing brotherhood.

I have nothing to do with deleting anything, but you should have simply made thread about "dumb conspiracy theories" and posted the links. In that case, would not have been a personal attack.

You could just ignore people who are off their rocker or who seem like they might have taken a trip to Charlottesville last summer.

Is it possible to have ignored people not see your posts/comments as well? Because others can see both and assume you agree/acquiese to their challenges to your posts that you are not even seeing and thus not responding to.

Yes, I think I made ignore mutual. When you ignore someone, you are then also invisible to them.

I find this function to be annoying. It can effectively take some ignored users out of the conversation. No user should be able to censor another user's experience besides their own.

Patrick, realistically ignore is not a sufficient solution. Pointing out that a user usually posts stupid things or great things is a better way to keep the conversation going. For example, I don't trust 90% of TPB's posts whereas I trust 90% of Bob's posts. I still want to see TBPs posts and poke holes in his arguments.

No, I set you back to normal.

After some number of comments marked personal, you get downgraded for a while.

So, to effectively censor someone, I just have to mark them as 'personal' a lot even though that is not the case (which is what I suspect some were doing with at least half of mine that were marked 'personal')?

No, that won't work because a moderator will see the comments and liberate them from the moderation queue. And if a user keeps marking non-personal comments as personal, they will lose the ability to do it.

I disagree. As soon as it's about a user and not about what they are saying, the conversation is actually over.

Even if Hitler said that 1 + 1 = 2, it's still a mathematical fact.

Too much of our politics lately is about people and not about what they are saying.

I think ignore works just fine. Based on the bolded parts above, it really seems like you don't like certain posters. That's fine. I don't care and I'm not defending anyone honestly. If you believe it's stupid and 90% of it is not trustworthy, I'm not sure why you'd want to see it anyway though. That's what ignore is for and works well.

And you've been here long enough based on your registration date and I'm guessing you're a smart person (being serious and not condescending). You likely know the main posters here. You can poke holes in the argument until your poker is a dull as the end of a 2X4, but do you think anything will change? Most here and in many other forums are firmly cemented knee deep in their positions. You're poker is now the end a 2X4 and you're trying to break through 2 feet of concrete to get someone to move positions or opinions. It ain't happening.

If those people voted something other than Democrat, we would not have Congresswoman/con artist Maxine Waters.

Instead, those individuals are amoungst the stupidest people in the nation and despite getting literally NOTHING from Waters, like imbeciles they continue to vote for her(And other crooks like shyster Al Murastuchi.

She's not half bad. Folks, I present US Representative of IL-1, Bobby L. Rush. This is not a joke, this is a real United State representative. Representing one of the more crime ridden districts in the country. Some of the Youtube comments are classic.

This doesn't take away from Maxine not being the sharpest knife in the drawer. Just know there is worse out there and that of course, it resides in IL.

There seems to no shortage of looney tunes in either party and a weekly scan of the news will prove that out.

Oh no doubt. There are plenty of religious zealots in office on the right. Many are simple idiots as well. AL & MS are well represented on that front (and other places - hell Palin manage to become governor of a state somehow and somehow R's thought she was a good VP, lol). But, Bobby Rush is a tough pill to swallow though. Extremes will always exist on either side, this one just is really extreme.

It's in their title, representative. I've met African Americans in his district that would be substantially more representative. No need for me to steamroll him here, but there are plenty of other videos where he can't get a coherent thought out. This guy is pushing 30 years of "representation" in a district that has some of the more dangerous neighborhoods in the first world. WTF has he done? Overall crime is down in the city, but the city portion of his district continues to just be violent. Hell, even some of the suburban portions are sketchy.

In this specific case and district, this leader has utterly and absolutely failed his constituents. One person can't fix everything, but I'm not certain what he's actually done.

lol, not sure how I got to this point in the thread considering the OP.

Man, this is asinine. The most direct and effective way government has to steal your hard earned cash away is income taxes. And you know who the champion of income taxes is. Look, nobody disputes handouts/subsidies effected by Republicans as well, but if you think it's ok to take 40% or more in state and federal income tax from someone's hard earned money and give it to people who don't work you can't be helped.

Wow, another case of blatant censorship in the US house of representatives. Bobby L. Rush is forcibly removed from speaking, by the so-called Sargeant-at-Arms no less, for wearing a hoodie jacket and therefore breaking some cockamamie anti-democratic rule about "decourum".

Wow, just wow. Does anyone really think we live in a democracy when a US Representative is disallowed to speak his alotted 5 minutes for wearing the wrong clothes? Does anyone believe we have free speech?

"Clause of of rule 17 prohibits the wearing of hats in chamber when the house is in session"

To rewrite an old saying, "Decorum is the last bastion of scoundrels". You may all recall that the original saying is about "patriotism".

To post stuff like this, because the truth hurts no matter what form the media takes to display it:

Note that the comic above conveniently ignores the fundamental reasons that Trump got elected:

* outsourcing of US jobs to China and Mexico to undercut US wages
* insourcing of illegal labor to undercut US wages
* a steadfast refusal by the left to actually look at the destruction of the working class, but instead endless anti-white racist stereotypes and mockery

So the comic itself is an excellent illustration of the the offensive tactics by the left that got Trump elected in the first place.

I wish the Democratic party would get back to representing labor and drop all the other shit.

I wish the Democratic party would get back to representing labor and drop all the other shit.

They can't. I mean, they can't because just representing labor isn't enough. That is why they got in bed with the greens, minorities, etc. in the first place. The Democrat Party is basically a coalition of society's 'traditional' losers. That's all changing as the very definition of 'loser' has changed, with many a newly minted loser is now taking over the GOP (Tea Party and Trumpers, etc). We are witnessing a general, overall political realignment. Such things take a decade or more to happen. It seems that the GOP is ahead of the Dems in undergoing its end of this process.

So basically, we have yet to see what the Democrat Party will evolve into. Their elites have been more capable of resisting change than the GOPes but won't be able to for much longer. Bernie was a symptom of that.

So for those very rare individuals who are of the 'progressive' persuasion but still can think logically/see the big picture, it actually would help them for the Dems to get their asses kicked this November and probably in the next. Because only out of the ashes from that can the Party move forward in transforming into what it needs to be to yet again one of America's true major parties ...

...but I am biased, so. :)
