Where in the hell would a retiree go? Establishments used to have management that understood retirees and catered to earning their business. Management today does everything in their power to drive them away and blame Boomers when they lay off employees. Living isn't cheap, a condo in a retirement community used to be $25 to $35K. Now they've parlayed them into the Medical insurance industry. By time you get an aging person in one, every sibling has to chip a few hundred dollars to cover the costs of living in a retirement home every month. If they retire they become a burden.

Number one reason though is really 18 years of Liberals relentlessly blaming Boomers as a generation to hide the graft, Pelosi, Waters, Clinton, McConnel and many others that have been manipulating the markets while they got rich doing insider trading. While pandering "The boomers are all rich 1% and is why young people can't have nothing."

So yeah, Boomers refuse to retire because Liberals are fucking morons, and the last thing they want to do is retire and have to deal with them everyday. As a Senior in the Retiree industry that is designed to suck them dry in less than 5 years and put on a death panel list.

I would note when I moved to South Florida in the 80's it was a Retiree wonderland. They were always having a blast, it was cheap and affordable for them to live and just have a blast living out the rest of their days. They were middle class, retirees. You would have be senior executive level retiree today, to live the lifestyle they were afforded for just dollars a day.
You know the world famous South Beach in Miami? One of the wold's most hottest and expensive Zipcodes now? When I moved here South Beach was a Jewish Senior community. Cheap bastards living in cheap buildings. I remember when they tossed them out and gentrified those buildings. All they did was put a facade on the outside. The uneven 2 and 3rd story wood floors where the plywood didn't meet right they left like it was.
The golden age of the ideal Retirement and planning for it is over. You'll take your chances and get what you get I can promise you that. There's a larger industry that wants to burn through retirees savings in short order. Than there is an industry that wants to make sure you are comfortable for the rest of your days.
