At least flying private jets is not a sin in his religion.

Louisiana televangelist seeks donations for $54M private jet

This is why donations to religions should no longer be tax deductible. It's not the con men that shock me, it's the millions of suckers that believe these con men.

I disagree, one bad apple doesn't speak for the rest of the members of the community. I worked with a Church in Los Angeles that was 100% funded by donations, and used over 90% of its money to help Skid Row homeless.

I also have donated to World Vision and they have one of the best pure help/administrative cost ratios of any charity exempt tax organization.

We have to stop making policy on the worst actors in a society. It's how we got the war on drugs, and the current assault on the 2nd amendment.

I'll make a donation if he promises to fly it to Saudi Arabia and start preaching on the tarmac.

I have a friend who helps/used to help street kids mostly in Mexico getting off drugs/glue with pretty much all the money donated. Depends on the integrity of the person/org.

Love it. You know he will not return.
All he will do is fly around to poor countries seeking donations for another plane from starving people. What a fucking bastard.

These guys are conmen but the suckers keep on going to them. Why? Because people love their message, as false as it is.

The common theme is that 1. the pastor communicates with god. 2. if you listen to him, you will improve your finances and relationships. 3. god wants you to be happy, rich, etc. 4. the pastor will tell you how to live so that you won't go and burn in eternal hell someday.

Pastors are rich for the same reason Tony Robbins is rich; people want to be told that they will become rich and live fuller lives and are willing to pay for the privilege of being told baloney.

We all know what Jesus thought about the money changers in the temples, and that he took a vow of poverty.

People I know said they prayed that god would spare them from the last hurricane that came to Florida. I would ask them "But didn't god make the hurricane? Or he just made us?"
