Not every white person has slave owning ancestors. Not every white person comes from a country where slavery was practiced at some point. And some white people may have ancestors who were slaves themselves. Most obvious case of the latter: Russian Empire where they didn't bother with shipping in slaves from overseas and simply enslaved their own compatriots. Fun fact: the slavery there was abolished around the same time the same happened in US.

Slavery has always been a caste it's more about classes not races.
It's why paying your debt was ingrained early in Man. As not having money to pay your obligations, was the biggest reason for being sold as a slave across all cultures.
Still today it's argued Debt is Slavery.

Debt is indeed slavery.
