U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met face-to-face Tuesday morning for their highly anticipated summit.

After briefly shaking hands and taking a photo side-by-side, the two leaders moved into another room where they sat in chairs and made brief statements for the press.

"We're about to have a great discussion," Trump said, adding that he expects a "tremendous success."

"We will have a terrific relationship — I have no doubt," the president added.

For his part, the North Korean leader said, "It was not easy to get here ... the old prejudices and practices work as obstacles on our way forward, but we overcame all of them and we are here today," according to a translation.

Trump responded: "That's true."

Trump will intimidate that fat little rocket man.

Kim only wants one thing.......His survival with riches.
Trump only wants one thing.....A complete, and irreversible end to NK nukes.

I think Trump can make a deal as long as Kim is convinced him and his regime will be destroyed if he does not denuclearize.
------------
I heard Bill Richardson on CNN today, who negotiated with NK 20 years ago tell Trump what he should. He should be nice, friendly, develop a relationship, and let Kim keep part of his nuclear program because NK will not give it up. Trump should also get concessions on human rights etc all in exchange for economic help.
Dear Bill, are you fucking stupid? You want Trump to repeat your mistakes?

On a side note:
While they were ironing out the technical details of the meeting, they had to figure out who was going to pay for Kim's hotel bill. NK said someone would have to pay it because they did not have a lot of money. $6,000 per day for Kim's suite. he he he he he. Could they afford Motel 6?

Imagine 10 years ago if somebody wrote a book where a tatted, pierced Black NBA star who was a cryptocurrency investor and all around controversial figure would broker a meeting between the US and DPRK on peace, nuclear disarmament, and general Asian issues.

You'd have been laughed out of the Office.

If Trump succeeds in a complete and irreversible denuclearization of Not Korea, he should get the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump's real challenge will be Iran. Communist dictators put life over ideology. Islamic rulers put ideology over life. I wonder how Trump will deal with that? My guess, military force will be the only way.

Small steps - that is what has happened, a first step so let's not let the celebration get ahead of reality

This is historic. The first step is not to give a terrorists regime 100 billion dolalrs so theyw ill suspend their nukes for ten years and int en years ebcoem nuclear again and thereby every rival in the middle east will also become nuclear. Stupidity of dems knows no bounds.

This is how it is done.

Want to talk about the cost of those Mar-a-Lago trips that you and I and everyone else is picking up the tab for?

Not unless it's normal.

Time will give us the answers now won't it ?

So far Trump's way is a better way. Obama was too much of a pussy to handle foreign threats from dictators and religious wackos.
You don't have to like Trump to give him credit where credit is due.
