Yep. Winnemucca is the exception rather than the rule.
In the Catskills and elsewhere within a 2 hour commute of New York, there are rules just about everywhere. When they allow little buildings, there's rules they can only be occupied 2-3 months out of the year as a vacation cabin.
I should check up on this guy Jim who moved from Daytona to Winnemucca and did the junk land + trailer thing. He was living and working last time I checked. First thing that happened is that his wife left, but he was actually happy about that. He biked to work at a Goodwill or somesuch an hour each way, built a cheesy container greenhouse (since the land around Winnemucca isn't good for growing jack shit, not even weeds like dandelions), and tried to figure out how to stay warm. Lost the site when I switched computers a while ago, wonder how he was doing.
He did have cash up the ass despite making like $9/hr.
Just pack them in tighter is all. I look for small condo's, mine got big fast. Not many around. They are still building cheaper, and homes closer together.
