All truth.

The socialist movement is made up of two types.

Type 1 - Major losers in life who have never accomplished anything. They blame their failures 100% entirely on EXTERNAL factors, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions that have lead to their loser lives. They gravitate towards the nanny state because controlling their own lives has resulted in utter failure.

Type 2 - People who seek to take advantage of these losers and use them as a stepping stool to power.

A bunch of appealing theories that gain traction with inexperienced naifs, but have no historical record of success, are incompatible with observable human behavior, and have many hiccuping, repetitive historical disasters. Still, they continue to beguile morons and sociopaths who like to beguile and manipulate the morons. What more can a self anointed 'expert' or college prof want?

Elites, not elitists.
Peterson is one of them.

Peterson is right that that a lot of support for communism/socialism by sociology instructors is due to resentment at their low pay and low status. They may not even consciously realize that resentment is driving their politics. I say "instructors" instead of professors because actual professors make quite a bit more money and have higher status, and probably are less inclined to support redistributionist policies.

I'd bet that most engineering instructors are far less taken in by the politics of resentment. Engineering is a solid field, relatively high status, and with pretty good pay. Engineers can simply leave academia and earn as much or more, unlike sociology instructors. They directly see the results of their work.

A lot (most) of humanities professors also support redistribution/socialism/etc. Humanities faculty are typically much worse paid than hard sciences and especially engineering faculty for fairly obvious reasons - upon graduating with a PhD engineers and many scientists can still get decent industry jobs, while sociology/humanities majors can not. Consequently, their salaries are much lower. They also do not bring in much grants that generate overhead (engineers bring in most), and do not have to direct research which gives them more time for nonsense.

Also, existing left-wing humanities faculty will hire MOAR left wing faculty which explains why there are few conservatives in humanities.

Envy, pure and simple.

And how many testably proven theories can sociology put forth? It's not really a science, despite the "-ology" suffix.

I don't know.

Why do conservatives hate democracy?

Because Democracy is the tyranny of the commons, two wolves and one sheep deciding what’s for dinner. Pure democracy results in collectivism.

That’s why the United States of America was founded upon the concept of a Constitutional Republic where individual rights trump the tyranny of the commons. It has proven to be exceedingly successful and exceedingly stable.

Democrats don’t seem to care or don’t even realize that there is a distinction just like they can’t seem to decipher that there is a binary difference between “legal” and “illegal” (yet can point out 47 different made up genders).

112 genders and yet everyone has exactly two parents, one male and one female.

Sexual Reproduction is a sexist, white supremacist lie to spread oppression of POCs and Minorities.

I'm sure they have a number of reasons, but the biggest one has to be, because they've never experienced it.

Spoken like someone who has never even cracked a high school level sociology book.

The problem is that it's being used to force certain speech.

This is a violation of the right of people to refer to facts as facts. It makes it illegal to tell the truth that there are only two genders.

It's a wonderful question. You would think the academic elites would be the ones to quickly see the failures of extreme socialism, but don't.
I do believe we will and should have more socialism as machines take over the production of essentials, but capitalism and entrepreneurship can never be second place.
What good are communism and socialism when it comes to scientific progress, as capitalism has been? Even the great socialists Karl Marx, Lenin, Mao, and Bernie Sanders would have to admit that. But they won't, because their fucking egos won't let them.

Good question. Why are college students herded into buildings the moment they arrive as freshmen and read the riot act about SJW opinion? Where RAs are monitoring them 24-7 for correct speech?

Why aren't colleges more worried about indoctrinating students with Calculus? Why is it so important to have all students adopt an unverifiable set of socio-political opinions that hard science is daily refuting?
21   Booger   2018 Jul 17, 7:20pm

Under communism, every man has what he needs. That's why the butcher puts a sign up that says "nobody needs meat today."

Bedbugs appeared in the house occupied by the secretary of the region Party committee. The Party boss summoned an expert on insects and asked him how to get rid of bedbugs. The expert said,

"The best way is to organize them into a collective farm,” he tells the Party boss. “Half of them will flee and the rest will starve to death."

Academics are paid by taxes. Such a person is tempted to believe pontificating is several notches above soiling their hands in the pursuit of profit. If we had only free-market colleges, the pure academia instructor pay would take a hit. Instructors with real world experience along with an academic resume would fare better.

In it's current state, I personally dislike the equal-say-without-equal-contribution of money and services to the public.
