Nobody even knows who the fuck the homeless are, where they came from, why they are where they are etc. etc. No knowledge of personal origins, families, work histories or arcs means policy is shot in the dark at best, based in the usual libby altruistic delusions.

You can see lots of homeless interviews on You Tube, but they are generally of the self professed pity pot variety. Doubtable that they contain anything but a vestige of actual truth, and the homeless are so dazed and confused, they probably don't always know. The homeless are great at play acting as victims for the consumption of the 'compassionate'.

At least she has already had some experience running the city as the fill in for the late Ed Lee. So, the residents won't be too surprised by whatever direction she leads.

After a bit of searching the internet, I found:
• never married
• no kids
• never had a job in the real world
• bachelors Poly Science degree from Davis
• masters from U of SF in "public administration"

So, she seems like an intellectual lightweight, not a marriage-and-family type, and never had a real job.

But again, she has a record of public service, so the residents are going into this eyes-wide-open. It could be (much) worse: check out the mayor situation in Stockton (who has a degree in "Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity")!

... but the relentless propaganda re "MOAR cheap housing" ignores this fact completely.

She's also a second Mayor of SF who is proud to point out the fact that she's "grew up in housing projects" (first one being her predecessor Ed Lee).

She was actually the moderate choice and is pro business. Her opposition were way far to the left - Leno & Kim.

Thanks for injecting some reasoning, in my otherwise insensitive attack on another affirmative action fluff.
May She prove me wrong.

When first black people are too good at what they do. The news don't like to talk about them. Your Clarence Thompson(first Black justice), Thomas Sowell(first AA winner of multiple Economics awards), Herman Caine(First AA successful IT computer engineer), Ben Carson(First AA Brain Surgeon), Charles Payne(First AA to anchor his own show on Fox Business). None of them put that they were first at something they did, in their Bio but it's absolutely true.

NPR had some Woman fire chief on a few months back. Apparently she's coming back to South Florida and will be the first Woman Fire Chief for some part of Miami.
But here's the thing she started out a firefighter in Miami over 30 years ago. She since went on to be the first Female Fire chief for 5 other cities. Talk about milking your once in a lifetime one shot at something special?

Is the new Mayor a dyke?

Thurgood Marshall was the first black justice.

While the headline had no dog-whistle effect on me, it did make me think of an old rule of thumb I developed from experience:

Never eat at a Mexican restaurant staffed by black people! Corollary: Don't consider chains like Taco Bell "Mexican."

Taco Bell doesn't even belong to the "food" category, let alone "Mexican food".

If she's not making a big deal of being black or female, then I don't care about it either. Just want her to do a good job.

But if she talks about being black and female a lot, then I won't trust her to be competent at all. I'll assume she's inflaming tensions to hide her incompetence.

The press really blew it by going on and on about her being the first black woman mayor. If they really want equality, they will stop being so shocked that a black woman could get elected.
