LeBron James criticized black athletes on Monday, accusing them of trying to divide the country by using sports as their focal point.

The new Los Angeles Lakers star said the athletes created a wedge by capitalizing on the controversy surrounding former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem.

“Black athletes are dividing us and what I've noticed over the last few months,” James told CNN before the official opening of his I Promise School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. “They kinda used sport to kinda divide us, and that's something that I can't relate to because I know that sport was the first time I ever was around someone white and I got the opportunity to see them and learn about them and they got an opportunity to learn about me and we became very good friends.”

He continued: “Sports has never been something that divides people it's always been something that brings someone together.”

I actually respect Lebron. He’s just too ingrained into
Hollywood and surrounded by 99% young black males who are all usually leftist.

He’s not a bad guy but he’s captured by group think/tribalism.

If you look at his life, he actually makes a perfect conservative.

- Got married before kids. Same wife over 15 years. No scandals.
- Worked hard to be the best.
- created a school (private sector solution) because public sector schools (run by 99% Democrats) weren’t helping the children of Ohio.

Farfrom it. He's drama on the court.

Don't forget, sports is entertainment.

He is a big time flopper, but let's be honest, his statline speaks for itself. Barring some age-induced fall from the top, Lebron James is still the best player in the world.

I disagree with his politics, but as a Lakers fan, I think he's going to lead a fringe team to a deep playoff run this year.

I grudgingly admit that he can play hoops (still not worthy to tie Michael Jordan's sneakers (IMHO). But what he talks about means nothing to me. You are here for my entertainment. Don't care what you think about social issues, the nation, or anything. Play ball and play well, or I'll stop watching you (as will others) and your talent and skills will have NO monetary worth.

Young black male brandishes gun, runs from police. Police shoot and kill him. Reaction: Outrage, why the racism?

Young black males kneel during national anthem, president and vets accuse them of disrespecting the flag. Reaction: Outrage, why is Trump politicizing sports?

A pattern of not taking responsibility, perhaps a vestige of the slave mentality?

This has nothing to do with Slavery. Marcus is training them Race Bait Dog Whistles from the time they enter Kindergarten.

Police need to broadcast the national anthem from there car and the'll get kneeling instead of running. Problem solved. :-)

Michael Jordan

MJ is a legend because he understood how the world worked.

"Racist have to buy shoes too." - Michael Jordan

... and that's why he's a billionaire that became the first NBA player to become a majority owner of an NBA team.
