There's a show called "A Very English Scandal" on Amazon.

It's about a prominent British MP, Jeremy Thorpe (played very well by Hugh Grant) who becomes bedeviled by young male mistress (Norman Scott, played by Ben Whishaw). Thorpe seduces, then abandons, Scott, who then turns on Thorpe and publicly harasses him. This is in the days after WWII 60's-70's when homosexuality was nominally illegal in Britain, and prominent gays were in the closet or bearded (token marriages). Thorpe plots to murder Scott, and is uncovered, prosecuted, and found not guilty, which diminishes his otherwise stellar political career.

Hilarious line from Norman Scott when complaining to the police about Thorpe: "He infected me with the virus of homosexuality!" Both men variably sleep with women, and Thorpe marries and has a child to protect his public image.
