Andrew Cuomo shocks crowd, says America 'was never that great'

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo may have just handed Republicans a ready-made campaign ad for his rumored 2020 presidential bid – by declaring Wednesday that America “was never that great.”

The Democratic star made the seemingly offhand remark as part of his rebuke of President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan during a bill-signing in New York. But the line drew gasps from the crowd.

“We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great,” Cuomo said, to an awkward blend of gasps and chuckles.

"I hate this country. I hate George Washington. Death to infidels!"

I always knew left hated America. Cuomo for once was accidentally honest about what he thinks of our nation.

Had Cuomo been a Republican making that statement, every major media organization would be sticking microphones in the faces of Republican candidates up for election this year and demanding that they address or denounce Cuomo's statements.

I hope all NY Republicans leave NY and move to PA, DE, CT, FL, NH, and NC, turning all of them into deep red states, which seems to be what Cuomo wants. Should do wonders for the NY state budget once all those net taxpayers leave too!!!

Honestly I don't understand why the Dems moved so far out into the fringe zone. They used to be straight from the heartland America loving working class champions, what happened to them? Or at least that's how they presented themselves, now it's just open hate and contempt for America. How is it that many Western immigrants like this country more than roughly half of its own citizens?

My best guess:
It's pretty much a requirement to be a crazy socialist to win the Democrat primary these days in a lot of cases. Moderate Democrats, assuming that any still exist??? apparently aren't showing up for the primary. Closed primaries might have something to do with this as well.

Wonder how many federal dollars they receive in food stamps,housing,business subsidies?
Of course only Democrats are receiving this Socialism.


State taxes in NY and NJ are significantly higher than any of the states that I suggested that NY Republicans move to.

The actual quote was users, not user. Note the difference. Saying all liberal users (or any other group of users) I think is OK, but citing a specific user is not.

I think it's common knowledge that Republicans are net taxpayers and that Democrats are net tax recipients.

Actually, they can be. There are facts about specific individual people (they do not matter for their argument) and there are facts about the points they are making (they matter a lot).

The Dem party should have been disbanded in 1865 after they lost their slaves. Everything Democrats have done since 1865 has been negative for the country.
