And Brazil has only about 2/3 the population of the US. Therefore it is about 4 * 1.5 = 6 times as dangerous to live in Brazil.
Nearly 64,000 people were murdered in Brazil in 2017, a record high, and the rise in violence has become a key issue ahead of presidential elections in October. Candidates across the political spectrum are trying to play up their crime-fighting credentials and appeal to an electorate fed up with a weak economy and endemic graft.
I had dinner with a Brazilian couple and their kids this summer, and the wife does not want to go back, ever, at all after being robbed with a gun in her face in Rio.
She said it was always bad, but lately has become much worse.
Number of murders in Brazil is 64,000, number in the US is 16,000
That's why it's called a third world country. Duh. If it had wealth, infrastructure, and less corrupt sort of working government it would be a first world country with a lot less murders.
Gang members killing each other should not be counted as murder. It should be categorized as crime reduction
While I don't mourn the death of a banger, there's always another to fill in the void. Power, drugs and money is the driving force in places like these. You'll never get rid of people wanting to get perceived easy money. We need less people frankly, especially the stupid ones. Unfortunately you can't "fairly" get rid of the stupid ones without offending them and having to get rid of smart ones in the pro cess (Canadien).
And I'm not talking genocide or wiping out certain segments of population. Maybe a little forced birth control for starters? Even that's too extreme though. Certain people (of all races) should be disallowed from procreating. I'd venture to guess at least 50% of Americans would be behind this. Unfortunately, of that 50%, we'd need to neuter 50% of them and they don't know it.
