On Hotel Residents
Despite paying lip service to helping the Hotel President residents with an emergency ordinance to stop the eviction, Palo Alto City Council shows a deep-seated reluctance to institute any rent-control measures.
Iqbal Serang, an architect, and Hotel President resident read from a Palo Alto Weekly “Editorial: Unprecedented obfuscation: After a debate filled with disingenuous comments, council turns it’s back on renters.”
It was hard for Iqbal to watch council debating on whether or not to discuss an item. “How do you stand with that, not even wanting to discuss an item? Where are we, in progressive Palo Alto, or Trump land?” His indignant voice rang out.
