The missus is hooked on This is Us, and so I catch parts of it while buried in my laptop.

Observations:

- the successful, desirable black women are thin and semi-white.

-the troubled, poor black females are dark, and occasionally obese with close cropped hair.

-a healthy dose of not-your-fault is evident throughout the show. The morbidly obese sister constantly whines about the trials and tribulations of being large as a house, but apparently keeps stuffing her face.

It is clearly a messaging tool for Correct Think and powerlessness.

Photo: Poor, unfortunate, dark girl. She will never be as attractive as her stepmom, and is already obese.

1. the successful, desirable black women are thin and semi-white. Clearly this must be a mistake. I thought huge ,dark, nappy headed back women were the most desirable.

2. the troubled, poor black females are dark, and occasionally obese with close cropped hair. See 1.

3. The morbidly obese sister constantly whines about the trials and tribulations of being large as a house. Somebody really screwed up. She is a curvy, sexy, and desirable woman and should be body positive.

4. It is clearly a messaging tool for Correct Think and powerlessness. This must be wrong. Aren't all messages supposed to be empowering for women?
