"He’s from a very liberal family, the former fiancée said to me, baffled. And he is very liberal himself, which is why this is so alienating.

I’m noticing, admits another, that a lot of liberal men especially are finding it difficult to deal with the current feminist movements.

I’m frustrated and embarrassed, my boyfriend of three years said to me, with how worked up you are. He didn’t find palatable my rage, the anger I felt for Trump, for the men and women who voted for him, was in fact embarrassed that I led 90 students from my small Ohio university through the streets of Washington with half a million Americans. We’d ridden through the night on a Greyhound—some of my best and brightest undergraduates—and when I returned, delirious for sleep but feeling righted, in some small way satiated, he stood there in the hall and told me he was overwhelmed.

All of you women with your labia hats, he said. All of you with your clitoris signs."

Toxic femininity

The weird "I'm a strong independent women, whom you are responsible for protecting because you are male" issue.

Because no matter how hysterical or psychotic, they know that in a pinch, men will always save them from themselves.

Aaah yes, the well-known endgame of crying WOLF! then when the villagers run to help angrily berating them all for being JUST AS BAD AS THE WOLF!

Then, instead of learning any lesson like the character in the old wolf tale, they cry in their Chablis and blame the good men they've just driven away, FOR HAVING THE AUDACITY TO GO AWAY.

The social buying power of "the Women Are Wonderful Effect is crashing like 2008. Even erstwhile male feminists and thirsty beta chumps have been blamed for the misdeeds of others too many times to ever be called or lured back to feminine primary servitude again. Way to go, Feminism! You're fast running out of best allies to alienate and drive away.

How many Republican women will vote their conscience & then tell their mates that they voted a straight Republican ticket?

Pretty much every Woman that loves her Kids and doesn't want the Liberal shit driving her kids to Suicide.
Liberal teachers bring their shit to school and dump in on the pupils and American parents pay the price when the kids kill them selves. They don't deserve being dumped on by the seriously Mentally Ill.

Get Liberalism and Socialism out of our schools. Vet the TEACHERS!

Until parents stop telling their daughters that "they can do things better than men", this won't stop. These daughters grow up to find out that what they heard growing up is not reality, so they get pissed thinking there's systemic discrimination because they're obviously better than men...mommy and daddy told me so.

These "liberal" men determined they prefer grown women as partners instead of angry spoiled children in adult bodies.

Teachers are vetted, pretty damn hard.

The teachers I see are all what you would see as very normal socially. Sure they vote democrat, but that's becasue democrats support public education issues, and educators.

You assume the changes you see are due to teachers ? Nope. Kids do it themselves. When my generation grew our hair long or experimented with drugs, it wasn't because of the teachers. It was in spite of the teachers.

Social media does far more to spread all the niche little subcultures, everything from gamers to anime, and trans or otherwise weird sexuality, or whatever other weird thing kids are in to.

Teachers might be guilty of strongly advocating tolerance and that kids are kind to and respectful of each other. But that's a good thing, even if it does sometimes, to some extent allow deviant narcissism or other less than desirable behaviors, that is behaviors that would not flourish in a more fascist setting. This a pitfall of having a lot of freedom.

BE careful before you argue for taking our freedom away.

Story time: during the last election I was in the midst of dating a teacher, whose ex-husband was a rich hardcore Republican type. She was not politically informed or sophisticated; just picked it up by osmosis from those around her.

Anyway, she knew I was not a Trump fan, and on election night openly gloated in a bratty manner about Trump's rise in the polls. Then not 15 minutes later she got a tweet from a colleague, and said, "Shit, Trump's big on charter schools!" I simply thought to myself, "Way to vote yet again directly against your own interests while wagging your finger at the side that's actually correct, casual Republican!" That relationship was measured in weeks.

So you're against charter schools and freedom of educational choice?

If you think the Democrats are correct about anything much, you’re just as low information as your ex. Republicans haven’t got much figured out either, but at this point I vote against the crazy rather than for anything in particular. We can live without koombayaa socialism. We can’t live with crazy in charge and the Constitution in the toilet.

It's interesting. Things have been moving to the right for decades on this mantra. We now have way too much debt, and republicans just increased it by doing an unneeded tax cut that goes mostly to the rich and corporation (to the rich indirectly). I get it. If democrats ever gain power, their hand will be tied.

Meanwhile we don't properly maintain infrastructure, and there are huge liabilities (that I guess you want to default on), and you're still worried about Kumbaya socialism ?

The ironic thing is, I'm not for real socialism or communism, but the policies of the right wing in this country are likely to cause a failure so extreme and dramatic that the result will be exactly what you fear. Either that or some other form (fascist perhaps?) of total government takeover of everything.

What is it you want ? Police state and shanty towns for the majority ? WE certainly are no longer a democracy, long before it gets to that.

You know. I figured a teacher would know, or at least remember (for all the times people on this board have pointed it out) that we NEVER WERE A DEMOCRACY!! We were formed as a constitutional republic, and that’s what we still are. That means it’s not direct democracy that rules but a system of laws created by an elected body of lawmakers, enforced by a head executive whom we also elect through a process that is also not direct democracy.
It’s worked so far, and it can keep working.
