Mexican dentists are able to accept American dental insurance, which I am sure they are delights the insurance company. Industries like medical doctors and dentistry, once safe from outsourcing are hurting. Many people go to Thailand for cosmetic surgery.

What happens when some Mexican "pharmacy" sells you counterfeit drugs? What recourse would you have then? Sue them in Mexican court? ROTFLMAO.

No need to counterfeit them. The actual meds don't cost that much.

Before recent Mexican "troubles", a lot of people is S. Texas used to do their medical shopping in Mexico. I have not heard of any major problems. Just do not pick a random guy on a street to drill your teeth.

I like all the free meth and brown heroin samplers that come with your filled prescription.

The most important thing that needs to be done when you get some bad medicine is find someone to sue.

Yep, something to occupy your family with to distract them from their tragic loss.

Actually it's rational from the POV of the politicians and their patronage networks: they get paid. It's irrational from the voters' POV, but most are misinformed or uninformed.

Stick with known reputable pharmacies including Farmacias Similares. Avoid unknown pharmacies.

Farmacias Similares are particularly interesting because they sell similar drugs at remarkably low prices. In the USA, the Rx requirement (which should be repealed) limits customers to the exact drug prescribed, or a generic equivalent of that same drug, even if several similar options might cost less. For example, the Sacklers made billions selling OxyContin, based partly on a deceptive "12-hour" marketing campaign. There was no direct equivalent, even though there were many cheaper alternatives at a fraction of the price. That is often true. Before taking any drug, you should always learn about how it works and what alternatives might work as well or better. Farmacias Similares sell those, and have reduced the cost of medicine throughout Mexico: a friend who had been in that business said the competition from Farmacias Similares made the whole pharmacy sector reduce prices. We have nothing like it in the USA, because the Rx law prohibits you from substituting something similar (and maybe better); USA law limits you to whatever was prescribed, in order to maximize costs/revenues/power.

Other reputable pharmacies in Mexico sell genuine brand name drugs at a fraction of USA prices. Just make sure you are dealing with a known reputable pharmacy.
